Meet Genevieve Chi

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Genevieve Chi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Genevieve below.

Genevieve , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I think growing up less fortunate than those around me, helped me develop a strong sense of empathy and compassion. Especially when I can relate to someone going through hardships or adversities. I love to make a positive impact on another person facing difficulties. And sometimes its not even someone who is financially burdened. Its just a wonderful feeling being able to give back and showing support to others in the community and being a blessing. It means more to me now than ever before. I have children. They will witness what simple acts of kindness does for someone. And I want them to be a tool for helping foster positive changes, in poverty, in global crisis, or just over all. Just as I witnessed growing up, my mom gave to those in need, and it will carry on.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Genevieve, Im located on the Northeast side of San Antonio Texas. I am happily married with 3 wonderful children. & I am very blessed to have created a small business and be able to work from home.

I discovered sugar scrubs through a friend. The textures, the many varieties and pretty smells. But I truly fell in love when I created some in my own kitchen and accidentally discovered that real fruit and veggie scrubs were a thing and not only safer but very beneficial to our skin.

I researched and tested fruits, veggies, teas and coffee scrubs for years! It was a lot of fun and alot of trial and error. I think my peak year was seeing first hand the true benefits and natural results these scrubs had after my sister requested a brightening scrub. She used it specifically to lighten and brighten her underarms.
She was very insecure about the pigmentation she had, but the results made her sooo happy and confident and brought back her self esteem!! She even started wearing spaghetti straps!

Her happiness was the best feeling. She was and still is my hype girl. We have shared her results with the world and so many people of all ages and races have came forward with the same struggles and more!! It has pushed me & encouraged me to learn more about simple skin care and hair care. I began creating simple routines and created more products.
Its amazing making safe and affordable products with ingredients that I have in my kitchen. And its incredibly satisfying knowing theyre being used and helping so many people. From acne, and textured skin, to eczema, pigmentation, hair loss & more! I’m beyond blessed to be called to help this way. I love creating products and I love that I’m still learning and helping.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I think the best advice I have learned and can share is to set small goals. Give yourself grace, especially when things or ideas dont work out as you hoped. Your resilience and creativity will be worthwhile.

Clients are everywhere but if you want returning clients, be honest with them. Listen to their needs. Build a relationship with them and their trust. Be yourself, give when you can & you will attract a following and have clients for a lifetime.

And also money comes and goes, but steady income is the goal. Budget yourself. Make a plan, make informed decisions, manage your business decisions so you can grow financially. And never stop learning and growing for your business.

How would you describe your ideal client?
I dont have an ideal client. I love that I work with a diverse range of clients and don’t have a specific target audience in mind; I welcome all clients. After all, we could all use some self love for our skin and / or hair.
