Discovering my purpose has been a journey shaped by my creative instincts and the ability to express myself authentically. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, adaptability, creativity, and effective communication were pivotal in my journey:
Adaptability: Embrace change, stay curious, and see challenges as growth opportunities. Flexibility is key in dynamic fields like digital media.
Creativity: Nurture your creative instincts, seek diverse inspiration, and don’t shy away from thinking outside the box. Uniqueness often sets you apart.
Effective Communication: Clear communication builds successful collaborations. Hone your skills through active listening, clarity, and understanding your audience.
For those starting out, commit to lifelong learning, embrace curiosity, and develop resilience. These qualities will equip you to navigate the twists and turns of your professional journey.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was teaching me resilience during times when I felt less than due to dyslexia. They provided unwavering support, emphasizing that setbacks did not define my abilities. Through their encouragement, they instilled in me a belief in my own strength and capabilities. Their lessons in resilience have not only helped me overcome challenges associated with dyslexia but have also become a guiding force in facing various obstacles throughout my life. I am immensely grateful for their empowering approach, as it has shaped my resilience and determination in pursuing my goals.
