Meet Anthony Ricciardi

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Ricciardi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Keeping my creativity alive is a dynamic and evolving process for me. I find inspiration in the world around me, constantly seeking out new experiences and perspectives. Travel has been a significant source of inspiration; exploring different places, meeting diverse people, and immersing myself in different environments sparks a fresh and vibrant energy in my work.

I also prioritize a balance between structured routine and spontaneous adventure. While having a dedicated workspace and a consistent schedule provides a foundation, I make a conscious effort to break away from the routine. Whether it’s trying a new art form, experimenting with different materials, or spending time on my physical health and wellness (gym, runs, sauna), these moments fuel my creativity.

Collaboration is another key element in keeping my creative fires burning. Working with developers, engaging in large-scale projects, and collaborating with brands allows me to tap into a collective creative energy. It introduces new perspectives, challenges my ideas, and ultimately leads to the evolution of my artistic expression.

Lastly, I believe in the importance of self-reflection and continuous learning. Embracing failures as opportunities for growth and staying curious about the world keeps my mind open and receptive to inspiration.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My Biography:

Anthony Ricciardi is a renowned multi-disciplinary artist from Toronto, Canada that has travelled internationally showcasing his artwork and murals. His collections have been showcased globally in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Sydney, Manchester, Puerto Rico, Antigua, Montreal and Sao Paolo. He has curated large scale artwork and clothing for notable celebrities and has collaborated with major brands such as Disney, Adidas, Coors Light and L’Oreal.

Anthony is more than just an artist and his story, isn’t your typical. He went to Alabama State University on a baseball scholarship and spent five years working as an analyst for an investment fund but decided to leave the comfort and clout of corporate finance to pursue his true passion; art.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge stand out as particularly impactful in shaping my trajectory as an artist. Firstly, resilience has been my silent companion throughout, enabling me to weather uncertainties, overcome challenges, and persist in the pursuit of my artistic vision. In the face of setbacks, the ability to bounce back with renewed determination has been crucial. A lot of the times when you are so focused on building something special, you may feel lonely and begin to question why you are even doing it. But constantly reminding myself that doing what I love on a day to day basis is worth it. When you follow your heart, incredible things happen.

Secondly, having a clear aim and setting specific goals has played a pivotal role in guiding my career. Establishing a roadmap for where I wanted to go provided clarity and focus. You need to believe in your vision, even when it’s hard to see, even if no one else does. If you believe in your goals and yourself, nothing can stop you.

Thirdly, the execution towards those goals has been equally significant. Putting in the work, honing my craft, and consistently pushing the boundaries of my creativity were essential components of my journey. Diligence and dedication allowed me to refine my skills, experiment with new ideas, and ultimately bring my artistic visions to life. A goal or a dream is nothing without execution. Keep going and never quit.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I find myself overwhelmed, a crucial strategy I employ is taking a step back and reflecting on the body of work I’ve created and the artistic journey I’ve been on. This retrospective perspective allows me to appreciate the progress I’ve made, the challenges I’ve overcome and the evolution of my craft. It provides a sense of accomplishment and serves as a reminder of the passion that fuels my artistic pursuits. So many times in my life I’ve spread myself so thin, trying a bunch of different things. My excuse always was “you never know what’s going to take off”, but the truth is the grass only grows where you water it. You need to focus and grow!
