We recently connected with Morgan Jacobson Digital Creator and have shared our conversation below.
Morgan Jacobson, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I’ve been able to keep my creativity alive through finding things that allow me to be creative. It sounds so simple, but when we put ourselves in situations where we can’t be creative, it’s obviously going to diminish our creativity. When I am wanting to get creative, I will go through art on Pinterest and find something that inspires me. Or I will go outside and try to find inspiration through the people and things around me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I started off creating art for those around me and making pictures into digital art. I loved making memories more memorable. With the start of digital art, I wanted to be able to make the whole process my own and I started taking pictures as well. I loved being able to capture and create moments for families, couples, and individuals.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities in starting a business would be confidence, creativity, and discipline. Confidence is so important because there will be so many people who will absolutely love your product and will be willing to pay a good price for it- and there will be those who hate your product and don’t want it. Your business will not be for everyone and that’s okay! Creativity is also important because starting a business includes constant new ideas and new projects. Discipline is absolutely necessary in starting a business because it can be so easy to just fizzle out of working on it. I would tell anyone starting a business to just do it! It can be so scary putting yourself out there but just do it!! It will pay off.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The book called “The E Myth” was extremely important in the development of my business. The books goes over myths that small business owners have and why they are not true. It completely changed my mindset about business and how to conduct it.
