We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Agulla Tagle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Trying to connect with my inner self, asking myself what I want my life to be like, what I am really passionate about, where I want to live, how I can contribute to the world, which values make me who I am, what memory I leave in others, who I surround myself with, when I am able to express myself. So, when the answers are according to my desires, that’s when I learn what success is.
Although it’s hard for me to be resilient, I try to counteract this weakness by looking for the reason why things happen, because I believe in causality, not in coincidence. In my 30 years, I have traveled to 40 countries, with the first aim of showing Córdoba idiosyncrasy to the world and sharing world culture to the citizens of Córdoba who follow my trips on social media; and on each one, I learn a little more about adversity and how to overcome life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am Victoria, AKA Vitus or Vitussss (yes, with 4s) on social media.
I am a free soul, a wild leonine, a globetrotter with two homes. I am passionate about culture, my expertise is communication. I laugh out very loud and I love people who make me laugh. I also love running, I really enjoy reading alone and, in 2023, I discovered a new world: scuba diving. I immersed myself in different seas (the most challenging trip was the Red Sea where I dived with sharks) and the most precious challenge was especially in my deepest inner ocean.
I am a person with dichotomies: although I seem to be detached, I am so sensitive that I feel too much. On one hand, I can abstract from reality but at the same time I can focus a lot on something and develop it from an idea. On the other hand, I am very curious and creative, but I am not good at creating works of art. That’s why I studied journalism, to interview artists. That’s how I continued with Social Communication to improve how cultural institutions communicate to their audiences. Then I won a scholarship to do a master’s degree in cultural management in Barcelona, which gave me the tools to connect with culture with a more business perspective. When the Spanish foreign minister interviewed me to achieve this academic goal (after many beautiful obstacles) I responded that my dream was to open a cultural center. Finally, after learning a lot working in different companies, at 30 I took courage to open my dreamed LeMURia. While I study psychology, the doors of a continent full of creativity open to me. I am Yin and Yan in person. I am independent in my life but at the same time collaborative with my team (thanks Nico, Chango, Ale, Cami, Sofi, Mery, Max, Vale, Vix, Marco, Shei, Charo, Tomi, Ana, and Valen, Fran, Tefi, for being my heart & life team).
LeMURia Cultural Continent is a transversal analog and digital project, located in Poblenou Urban District (Barcelona), made up of a multicultural team of 15 people who, in different languages, carry out this purpose based on the concept of community materialized as a sociocultural Nucleus of the Creative Industry, in a Coworking format and a Digital Platform supported by the pillars of Audiovisual Production and Communication Agency.

PS: Actually, I started studying journalism to be a sports journalist but life took me down the cultural path. Though, I’m sure I still have time to go see Messi win one more World Cup!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My most powerful skills are the ability to persevere in pursuit of a dream, remain loyal to people who touched my soul, and reinvent myself as many times as necessary to carry out a project. All this is accompanied by a solar energy that has been with me since I was born, a curiosity that my parents have instilled in me since I was a child and an internal work to connect again and again with my abilities.
I think that those who I can give a piece of advice to are not those who are starting but those who have already started, that is, the higher ups, especially the managers or bosses who forget that we were all once employees or, if they were not, always remember that each person is a world. Now that I have to lead a multidisciplinary team, I put myself in the shoes of each collaborator because I was there, that is why I respect their times, celebrate their achievements and accompany their careers. To them, I tell them that we are all human and that a job position does not give you more or less rights. For all of us who are working on a creative process, I believe that by doing so with real commitment and genuine work, the butterfly effect brings spontaneous behaviors with beautiful aromas and productive energies that bring long-term economic fruits. I also think it is important not to compare oneself and trust each person’s processes as long as they are lived with great awareness.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Well, I have a comrade of people who embrace me in both my professional and personal life. First of all, my family is always supporting every crazy idea that I have. Second, my friends who accept me as I am. Third, the Lemurian community (professionals, teachers, collaborators, agents, coaches, colleagues), especially my partner Nico that accompany me with patience every day. Likewise, this month, I was accompanied by people who inspired me from the heart in a moment of creative sowing that is now flourishing.
I am a super curious person, I am fascinated with the cultural world, I really like working on new challenges, especially if it is as a team around creative ideas. I have been passionate about communication since I was a teenager and that passion is becoming more and more accentuated. I have a passion for connecting and sharing. Therefore, I created LeMURia for those who want to use the concept to explore new skills or enhance their projects. LeMURia was originally a civilisation based on equality and that is what we seek as a community.
I believe it is important to find our strengths to give added value to what we do. But also, I think it is necessary to detect our weak points to understand the cause to train the effort to improve.
