We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stareka Turner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stareka, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding your purpose takes time however, it’s not impossible. When trying to find yourself, you just need to take time and find what makes you unique and what makes you stand from everybody else. I went through some trials and tribulations, and it took years to actually find out what I want to do and I’m still learning. Find yourself requires mistakes and it also requires hard times but that’s all part of growth.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Well, let’s start by saying that I own a salon here in Greenville, South Carolina the name of the salon is 4evalavish studios. I decided about six years ago to get back in the beauty industry. I had my license for over 13 years I am a licensed cosmetologist. I manage several great clips in the upstate. I always had a passion for her. However, I found a new passion for lash extensions. I love lash extensions. I love how my clients feel after they have their lashes done it builds their confidence, I have a couple amazing ladies that work with over the past years that offer of services in my salon, we offer facials in the salon and also waxing. We also have a natural hairstylist we offer braids and we also offer extensions. I have a line of waste, trainers and detox that I sell in my salon , I also sell adult toys lash supplies And body oil candles. In today’s world, we also know that content is the key to success we’re running any kind of business, so I definitely took a step with the content creating and I’ve been working with major deals with TikTok shop. I am about to release a e-book on how to become successful with TikTok shop I made over $10,000 in one month in my first month doing TikTok shop and I’m going to be showing others how to create Content from online marketing. Online marketing is number one or as revenue in the world digital marketing is taking over the industry as we speak and I’m glad to be a part of that experience. I also am excited about teaching others what I had to learn by myself, the trials and tribulations the making mistakes the dues and don’ts reading all disclaimers from different companies, working with different companies and how to make sure that you get what you’re worth when you working with companies doing content, I am also about to release a line of loungewear that I’m sure my following will be excited to see and purchase it’s going to be comfortable you’ll be able to wear inside or outside. I have a lot of store for my clients new opportunities and new services are coming, but will speak on that later updates can be found on my website at www.4evalavish.com join the mailing list you won’t regret it. I also want to show entrepreneurs how to make sure they’re successful and stay successful. In this industry. You can work behind the chair however, I do not want to retire behind a chair. I want to make sure that I have other income outside of the salon when working in the salon, you wanna make sure that you have product sales not only doing services, but also have a product behind your services that’s going to be the key to success, I remember working with a lady named Karen stacks. She’s out of Orangeburg and she let us know about making sure that we have additional income outside of the services that we provide behind the chair. I always remember that as a reference to make sure that I am making money off of product sales when making product we’re making money off of product sales. We have to remember that once we sell out of product, we don’t spend the money we reinvest in the business reinvesting in the business is the key to success. I also have been tapping into acting I I am currently in a movie that is called your letter. It’s going to be on Tubi and prime TV over the past couple months. I have been having a passion for acting, so I was blessed to be in a role where I could fulfill my desires, and I definitely see myself doing more films in the future so make sure that you tune in some watch me on Tubi and prime TV
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If you were in the industry for as the beauty industry, you have to learn that you have to promote yourself. You have to do that content you have to take that extra mile to make sure that you’re successful. You have to invest in your business. You also have to remember that it’s gonna be some down days or months however, you have to manage your money correctly in order to make sure that you don’t get in a bad place where you have to, find a job. Working in the beauty industry January is going to be a slow month, so in that month you need to be making sure that you’re making content and you’re setting yourself up for success maybe even getting them gym membership getting your body in order but also working on your brand at the same time. The months like February March, April, May are going to be busy months June July August the summer months are gonna be slow. However, they’re gonna be consistent and any months after they are the upcoming holidays and back to school. You’re gonna be busy with strategizing your income you have to make sure that you make those busy days count and you save your money and reinvest in the business and also make sure that you have additional income from those products outside of the salon chair. Never watch what the next person is doing. However, you can be inspired about what the next person is doing. Take notes but don’t be intimidated. Never rush yourself. It’s good to be inspired by someone however, never try to copy exactly what someone’s doing. It doesn’t look good. Find your perfected stick with it, once you master it, let’s find another niche master that and stick with it

I was told to read a book called Rich dad Poor dad. That book was an eye-opener to how you think about money and how you think about life itself I think every business owner should read that. The four agreements was a great read, and also manifesting with laws of attraction reading these three books made me realize a lot in life and a lot with financial state. I advise all, even if you’re not a business owner to read these books. And just a brief synopsis on the first agreement. The thing that stuck out to me was the second agreement. Don’t take anything personal that means a lot when you’re working in the industry, you have to separate business from personal and reading. This book will definitely tell you why that so important so tune into the book.
