Meet Brandi Lilley

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandi Lilley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandi below.

Brandi, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
In my approach to self-care, I place a strong emphasis on several key areas: prioritizing sleep, maintaining diligent skincare and haircare routines, journaling, meditation, and regular exercise. Firstly, ensuring adequate and quality sleep has been a cornerstone of my self-care regimen. It not only rejuvenates my body but also sharpens my mind, significantly enhancing my daily effectiveness and cognitive functions.

In addition to restorative sleep, I am committed to a consistent skincare and haircare routine. This not only helps in maintaining my physical appearance but also serves as a therapeutic process, offering me moments of tranquility in my busy schedule.

Moreover, I find journaling to be an invaluable tool for self-reflection and emotional processing. It allows me to articulate thoughts and feelings, leading to greater self-awareness and a more focused mindset.

Complementing these practices, meditation has been instrumental in cultivating mindfulness and reducing stress. It provides me with a sense of calm and clarity, which positively impacts my decision-making and interpersonal interactions.

Lastly, regular exercise is an integral part of my self-care routine. It boosts my energy levels, improves my mood, and contributes to overall physical health, thereby enhancing my productivity and resilience in both personal and professional spheres.

Together, these self-care practices have had a profound impact on my effectiveness. They have not only improved my physical well-being but also bolstered my mental and emotional resilience, enabling me to perform at my best in various aspects of life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Thanks for letting me share! I’m the founder and CEO of Luneer Mgmt. My journey started in theatre design and production, where I got my BFA. This unique background, combined with stints in events and fitness, has given me a versatile toolkit. I’m all about creative solutions and staying flexible, which I find crucial in my work.

At Luneer Mgmt, we get the hustle of entrepreneurs and busy professionals, especially with how fast everything’s moving online these days. My pivot to Digital Studio Manager during the pandemic was all about seeing and filling a gap for administrative support, not just for online fitness instructors, but across the board.

What we do here is pretty straightforward but vital: we handle the heavy lifting on management so our clients can focus on what they love. Whether it’s online business management, a bit of personal concierge service, or design support, we tailor our services to fit each client’s unique needs.

We’re not just about the business transactions; we’re here to build real connections and help our clients grow and navigate their challenges more smoothly. Looking forward, we’re excited to keep evolving and finding new ways to support our clients, making a real difference in their lives and work.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three key qualities and skills stand out as particularly impactful: adaptability, relationship building, and strategic thinking. These attributes have not only been crucial in my professional growth but also in the successful development of Luneer Mgmt.

Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environments has been indispensable. In fields as dynamic as theatre, events, and fitness, and especially during the shift to digital platforms during the pandemic, being adaptable allowed me to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

Advice for Development: To cultivate adaptability, embrace change and step out of your comfort zone regularly. Seek diverse experiences and be open to learning from different industries or roles. Flexibility in thought and action is nurtured through varied experiences and a willingness to learn continuously.

Relationship Building: Success in any industry is deeply intertwined with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Whether it’s connecting with clients, collaborating with colleagues, or networking within the industry, the strength of these relationships can be a defining factor in your career trajectory.

Advice for Improvement: Focus on honing your interpersonal skills. This includes active listening, empathy, and clear communication. Attend networking events, seek mentorship, and don’t underestimate the power of a genuine connection. Building a robust network isn’t about the number of contacts you have, but about the quality of the relationships you nurture.

Strategic Thinking: Being able to strategically plan and execute has been a key driver in my ability to manage and grow Luneer Mgmt. This involves not just setting goals, but also anticipating challenges, allocating resources wisely, and making informed decisions.

Advice for Enhancement: Develop your strategic thinking by staying informed about industry trends, learning from case studies, and practicing problem-solving in various scenarios. Consider taking courses in business strategy or management. Engaging in activities that require planning and foresight, such as project management or strategic games, can also be beneficial.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to be patient with your growth and proactive in your learning. Seek feedback, be curious, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks. Remember, personal and professional development is a continuous journey, not a destination. Stay committed to your goals, but be flexible in your approach, as the paths to success are many and varied.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
One of the most significant impacts my parents had on my life was their unwavering support and encouragement in every endeavor I chose to pursue. They were more than just guardians; they were my greatest advocates, always standing on the sidelines as my most enthusiastic cheerleaders. Their philosophy was rooted in the power of positive reinforcement and the belief that every experience, whether a success or a setback, held valuable lessons.

They instilled in me the confidence to embrace opportunities with an open heart and an eager mind, teaching me the value of saying ‘yes’ to new experiences. This approach fostered a mindset of resilience and adaptability, empowering me to believe that any challenge I faced was not an insurmountable obstacle, but rather a puzzle to be solved. They often reiterated that ‘everything is figureoutable,’ a mantra that shaped my problem-solving skills and my outlook on life.

Perhaps most importantly, they taught me the significance of learning from losses. In their eyes, every failure was a stepping stone to greater understanding and growth. This perspective has been instrumental in my personal and professional journey, helping me to navigate the ups and downs with a balanced and optimistic attitude.

Their support and teachings have been the bedrock of my achievements, and I attribute much of my resilience and success to the foundational values and beliefs they nurtured in me. I am beyond grateful for everything they’ve done for and taught me.
