Meet Black Cholo

We were lucky to catch up with Black Cholo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Black, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I develop my confidence from My mother/ the word. Life will teach you how strong and weak you really are at times. I always try to remind myself that I do not know everything so I need to be open to new things and be able to learn and listen. My self-esteem is very high at times but I am still humble. I’m a great person/ artist but the world hasn’t accepted it yet, and I’m ok with that. It’s not my job to tell people how great I am, “It’s to show them”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi, I am black cholo and I am a celebrity fashion designer,a stylist, and a model. I’m from Memphis, TN. I make custom streetwear and urban for my clothing brand “Immortal ink clothing”. I have a graphic clothing brand and a custom side. I made clothes for Groove hero, Jeezy, finesse2 tymes, Moneybagg yo, Boosie and more. I wouldn’t say I specialize in making anything because I’m always learning how to make something new, but if I had to say so i enjoy making button downs and bomber jackets. Most of my customs are place to order. I also do alterations and hemming to clothes.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The knowledge I would leave with someone that’s just starting out is to take your time ( be patient), do research on what you are doing and overall you have to really want to do it. When those days come around when you don’t want to do anything. You still have to

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Just relax, take a small break, clear your mind. It’s a lot you can do
