Meet Malcolm Garret

We recently connected with Malcolm Garret and have shared our conversation below.

Malcolm, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
just knowing that God is with me and that everyday he allows me to wake up i have to fulfill my purpose. nothing should get in the way of our purpose and our goals things may interrupt here and there but me knowing Gods will is enough for me to keep fighting in the physical world

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
i started a brand back in 2021 called retired from society. it all stemmed from going through old family photos and seeing how they where living their lives in full without fear of judgement from society and also for myself feeling this sense of any judgement from society shall be dissolved. i got to a point in life where i just wanted to do what i wanted how i wanted and when i wanted in a legal manner. also just being in a space of clarity of self gave me the confidence to wear my true self on my sleeve without fear of judgement from society in which the term retired from society fits perfectly. it’s not forget society it’s not about exclusion it’s all about leaving the mindset behind that society is always right.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
qualities id say being dedicated to your craft whatever it may be the skill of patience is one thing that a lot of us lack and or are building on
and the knowledge of self knowing your capabilities and knowing when to delegate

for folks who are early in their journey id say honor your craft, be patient knowing it’s going to work out, and use the resources you have to help you all while giving back to those resources by up lifting them whomever they may be or whatever it may be

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
my parents are super supportive they get joy out of seeing me pursue my talents and dreams and they actually like the things i produce and they get excited to wear them and spread the word that’s the biggest gift a child can ask for from parents when they are an entrepreneur
