Hi Shanie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Truly, I found my purpose as a little girl absolutely obsessed with my hair! Did I know hair was my purpose back then? No, but I did know that I loved hair. Growing up I found myself being the “family hairstylist” doing hair because I loved to do it, not knowing one day I would love to get paid doing it. I found myself critiquing everyone’s hair around me and thinking I would love to do her hair! Actually, I was supposed to go to college and do hair in my dorm room as a side hustle, but at that time in my life my main focus was dancing! After graduating college and working in my field of study I found myself stagnant, comfortable and honestly unhappy, so I enrolled in hair school during a pandemic! While carrying my son, I graduated cosmetology school back in 2021 & I now know my purpose is the beauty in life. Making people look & feel beautiful that is!

I’m Shanie your hair professional. I specialize in Healthy Natural Hair Care & some Extension Styles. I am a mompreneur of a little girl & baby boy, probably the hardest yet rewarding job! A little bit about myself, I am a Dayton, Ohio native. I attended Tennessee State University. Five months before graduating undergrad at TSU, I found myself pregnant with my daughter and as determined as I was to graduate, I made sure that I finished and walked across that stage! After returning home from Nashville and giving birth to my daughter I found myself uninspired & content. Fast forward 6 years life came full circle and I found myself again five months from graduating, this time from Cosmetology school, and again pregnant! This time around, I know that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I am so much more happy knowing that I am walking in my purpose and giving women an experience that will not only make their hair look beautiful, but that will change their lives. An experience you will desire Again & Again:)
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were taking a leap of faith, the determination to work for freedom, and living in my purpose. When you put your faith in God he will do the rest! You just have to take that first leap in whatever you are trying to do or accomplish. Honestly, if you are a mama like me you know it is hard finding a job schedule that accommodates your mom schedule! Working for freedom means being able to work, but on my time, around my kids schedule! Furthermore, when you’re living in your purpose you are living your true authentic self.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a hardworking mama like myself. Ideally she is between the ages of 20-40 with a young child or children looking for the convenience of being able to bring her child(ren) with her. Being able to come to a one stop shop and get everything she needs done to look & feel beautiful. I understand. I’ve been there. I’m here to be a listening ear and give wisdom where I can. I’m here to help her relax while her child(ren) are in good hands with a caregiver if she needs to bring them.
