We recently connected with Tiffanie Bacon and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffanie, really appreciate your meeting with us today to talk about some particularly personal topics. It means a lot because so many in the community are going through circumstances where your insights and experience and lessons might help, so thank you so much in advance for sharing. The first question we have is about divorce and how you overcame divorce and didn’t allow the trauma of divorce to derail your vision for your life and career.
The most troublesome experience one will at any point go through is a separation. This has not been my first rodeo yet it was my most troublesome because it forced me to address a few things inside myself that required recuperating. Frequently, we would rather not hear reality concerning ourselves or we proceed with a pattern of addictions to assist us with adapting to life. This time, I wanted to live my life “intentionally.” I believed more was due to me than I had previously acknowledged. So, I chose to go do the work. I’m a lady who has confidence and accepts that my God can mend all things. Through my relationship with Him, I overcame my divorce. He is the reason. I tried not to rely on people I knew, but I needed the truth from the One who could give it to me. Many times, we realize our inward circle would rather not tell the truth and truly, I favored reliability from my Heavenly Father over others’ thoughts of me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I specialize in being of service. My mission is to help discouraged women over the bridge to healing, experiencing the love of God, and walking in freedom. My services include coaching, counseling, consulting, and mentoring women who have experienced traumatic events to receive their healing. I have over thirty years of walking through and out of traumatizing experiences, where my lessons learned will provide the women I serve with valuable strategies in their own experiences. My passion is to see all women healing, glowing, and knowing and walking in who God has created them to be.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe the most important qualities to have and which helped me tremendously to overcome in my season are knowing who your community is, what I call my Fabulous Five:
A Confidant
A Mature Family Member (does not have to be blood relatives)
A Counselor
A Faith Leader
A Coach/Community Support Organization
Secondly, being intentional in healing and that requires sometimes taking a hiatus from romantic relationships to focus on yourself.
Last but not least, cultivating your relationship with God.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I would point back to God and my Fabulous Five. God sent me some amazing individuals who I look at as my family now to encourage me, push me, and love me during my time of need.
