We were lucky to catch up with Keenya Kelly recently and have shared our conversation below.

Keenya, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
As a child we didn’t have a lot and had to persevere through a lot of not so great stuff. Because of that I had to learn how to navigate many aspects of life that required resilience. So that today at 42 years of age being resilient is a way of life

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
So I teach female coaches of course creators how to use social media and video marketing strategies to grow their businesses. What I love most about it is that it is my business and I am able to encourage people, teach them things that may not be what Corporate America would teach and I get to have fun by utilizing my personality. I don’t have to fit in some type of corporate structure I can do it the way that I do it. It’s also really fun to speak at different events because people are able to learn and be entertained because of the way that I speak.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I feel like the reason why I was able to be have any level of success today is because of perseverance, being courageous, and my faith. Because when you decide to leave a job to start a business you’re basically starting over from scratch because you have no knowledge on how to be a business owner. But I had every desire to be successful and so I made the decision to invest a lot of time energy and money to learn how to build a business while I was building. I feel like anybody that is a successful entrepreneur, this is a person that has gone through a lot, that has learned how to persevere in the face of crazy circumstances and someone that has learned how to master the art of themselves because you deal a lot with yourself when you’re building a business.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
When I think about collaborating I am looking for companies that are looking for someone like me to speak at their conferences, speak at their teams events, or train their marketing departments about video marketing and social media.
