Meet Kennedy Nelson

We recently connected with Kennedy Nelson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kennedy , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
How I developed my confidence and self esteem was definitely a bumpy journey. Growing up I had 5 siblings to look up to and parents that would inspire me and put me onto new things for sure. When turning about 17 years of age is when I really self reflected and dug deep within myself and thought about how I’d wanna be perceived if I were to step outside of myself. That really changed perspective for me and I have abided by that when I am feeling not so confident. It’s how I navigate til this day! I am still taking things day by day and learning and unfolding more and more about myself but come to learn to accept it all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Well I have had a tremendous year so far! I have been keeping busy and putting all my artistic abilities to the test! One thing about me is that I love to stay busy and challenge myself always. So to start out the year back in January me and my little brother had the honor to be signed onto a campaign with Dunkin’ Donuts and it was such a great and fun experience getting to film the ad! The ad accumulated almost 40million views! Also been recording and working on music I am an artist in a duo with my brother. Our stage name is ONYXX and we have a lot of things coming and that has been cooking up our lead single of our upcoming project is called “Nostalgia” and will be released soon! A dream of mine came true when I secured my spot in an art gallery downtown! I am an art major so being able to be featured in a gallery is just such an honor and it for sure will not be the last one! I also did a bit more modeling and branding for other companies and brands this year so far since I still do create content across my social media platforms. I am beyond blessed and grateful to the brands that reach out and allow me to collaborate alongside it’s always a great time.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 most impactful qualities that helped my journey was definitely the ability to be confident, patient, and driven. How I’d advise other folks early on in their journey to abide by these 3 qualities is to prioritize each quality as if it’s the most important. Because if I were to prioritize confidence over my drive or my patience I’m not sure I’d be here today. Really try to find balance within yourself and figure out how much you can bare and stay on top of your mental health.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking for new people to work and collaborate with of all professions especially if you hold any artistic talents! You don’t have to be artistic though if you like what you read and have ideas I’m always open to see what we can create together. For example I’d love to work with other artists or musicians, agents, influencers, teachers, public speakers etc. just to name a few! You can get ahold of me by reaching out to my social media platforms or by email
