Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noah Rosenfarb, a 3rd Generation CPA. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Noah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
“Like many Americans whose family immigrated here – I was taught that hard work produces success. Add to that a father and grandfather that were accountants and I learned early on the importance of trust, responsibility, attention to detail, and unwavering professionalism.
What’s evolved most over time is shifting from a “time and effort” work ethic to a “results based” work ethic. I learned to be sure my work produces the outcome I’m seeking with the lowest investment of personal time and effort.”
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
While other kids thought Superman or firefighters were heroes, I grew up thinking that business owners were the ones to be celebrated. I was taught they created value, innovated, produced jobs and progress. That led me to a life of supporting entrepreneurs and becoming one myself. What excites me the most about my work is the opportunity to shape futures, build legacies, and realize dreams.
Our approach at Freedom Family Office is unique because we look at wealth management for business owners holistically. It’s not just about growing your financial assets but also about aligning your financial goals with your life’s purpose and values. This perspective stems from my philosophy of becoming ‘Rich Beyond Money,’ which emphasizes a life rich in experiences, relationships, and impact, alongside financial prosperity.
One of the most exciting aspects of my work is helping owners pay less in taxes. Developing a tax strategy is solving a complex puzzle, a “game” I love. Speaking to groups like EO, YPO and Vistage to educate entrepreneurs on what is possible is very satisfying on a personal level.
We don’t just offer tax advice; we build partnerships with our clients, guiding them through every step of their financial journey.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Financial Acumen: My background as a CPA laid a solid foundation. Understanding the intricacies of finance, from tax strategies to investment analysis, has been crucial. For those early in their journey, my advice is to immerse yourself in learning. Whether it’s through formal education, reading, or practical experience, developing a deep understanding of financial principles is invaluable. Stay curious and never stop learning, because the world is always evolving.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: Building and selling eight companies taught me the importance of resilience, innovation, and risk-taking. These are the hallmarks of an entrepreneurial spirit. For those starting out, cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset by embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks. Surround yourself with mentors and peers who inspire you to think differently and push your boundaries.
Holistic Approach to Wealth Management: My ‘Rich Beyond Money’ philosophy underscores the significance of viewing wealth not just in monetary terms, but in terms of life fulfillment and legacy building. I encourage those at the beginning of their careers to think beyond financial success. Consider what makes a meaningful and balanced life for you. Start setting goals that encompass personal development, relationships, and contributions to society, alongside financial objectives.
To develop these areas, focus on continuous personal and professional growth. Seek out diverse experiences and perspectives. Remember, success is not just about what you achieve but also about who you become in the process. Stay true to your values, be open to learning, and embrace the journey with all its ups and downs.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Entrepreneurs connect with me most often because:
They want to pay less in taxes;
They want to create passive income through real estate;
They want guidance about selling their company; or
They want to upgrade their financial team.
