Meet Nas Nixx

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nas Nixx a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nas , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by doing things I like. I love going on walks with my dog and the moss I see on a rock will spark something in me, or reading a book and imagining and entire world in my head, or listening to music. I get inspo from things like that. So whenever I feel I don’t have any good ideas I go out and do those things and usually I’ll come back with an idea. So I think self care keeps my creativity alive

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I started off doing film photography and creative direction for lot of fantasy and Spooky inspired photoshoots. I now also direct and produce music videos which I have been loving and been having so much fun with it. I just did one for Johnnie Guilbert it comes out on Valentines Day. And it’s one of my fav videos I’ve done so far.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Definitely how to direct people and produce a production, consistency with posting on social media and with having more photoshoots because the more you have the more you learn and the more you post it’s an opportunity for people to see your work and hire you, and being a friendly person will take you a long way. Like me being friends with my team, hair stylist, muas, wardrobe stylist, and videographers,

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I would love someone who is not afraid to be themselves. I like someone who will also go all out and be in this fantasy world I’ve created. I would love to do a photoshoot with Grimes someday or Billie Eilish.
