Meet Ashleigh Samuel

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashleigh Samuel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashleigh, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My parents, moreso my upbringing.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a licensed esthetician that specializes in acne and age management through customized and holistic skincare treatments as well as a licensed bodywork practitioner that specializes in myofascial release therapy and body mechanics. The most exciting part of what I do is when I see my clients’ faces light up because they have trusted the process of their treatment plan and realized that it is a team effort and their goals no matter what they are, are attainable. For example, ive recently incorporated a new form of massage therapy called Sarga Bodyworks. It’s a form of ashiatsu (barefoot massage) that uses the same silks as aerial yoga in lieu of ceiling mounted bars. Whenever I perform this modality on my clients for the first time the feed back I get over the following days in regards to their mobility and range of motion makes my heart smile!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Continuing to be a student, realizing there is always something that can be learned.

Believing in the fact that God has blessed me with talents and finding my purpose within them

Perseverance

God puts you in the right places, and the right places will form. Whether they are good or bad.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Making me a responsible and Accountable person early in life. I received nothing that I didn’t earn.

Ex. If I wanted a dog, I had to show that I was responsible enough to have one
