Meet Vanessa Dunn

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vanessa Dunn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my upbringing for sure. At a very early age I started along the path to become a professional ballerina. My days were spent surrounded by people with a strong purpose, passion and commitment to their dreams. I quickly adapted to what was necessary to keep up in this environment. Building resilience, grit, and grace just came along with the territory. I am so grateful for the skills that were engrained in me as a young person.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hi. I am the founder of Mantra Moves™. My goal is to give you the tools and support you need to uplift your life, through movement, mindfulness and coaching. I lead classes, workshops, and retreats rooted in positivity and self love to unleash our true joy and vitality. Expect elements of Pilates, yoga, strength training, breath work, and meditation. Currently, I am most excited to share my release of Mantra Moves™ the Mindset Journal; Your guide to embodying your best self! My goal was to create a tool that inspired creativity, cultivates positivity, gratitude and gives you a roadmap to manifesting your best life, one day at a time!  It really has become the perfect companion for life changes, transitions, stages, and anyone looking to achieve personal growth. It has truly been a labor of love infusing beautiful art and photography in the pages to make this part journal, part art book.

Lastly, I invite you to find me on YouTube.  I offer free movement classes in Pilates, Yoga, sculpt, and meditation.  I’d love to connect there!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Action, action, action!! Starting anything new can be intimidating, but that’s no excuse not to go for it. Don’t worry about being perfect, we learn along the way. Make mistakes, and learn from them! Listen to others that are further along on the path! Enjoy ride. And be kind to everyone, you never now who will show up for you when you need it most. Believe in yourself with every body cell. You can achieve whatever the mind believes!!!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am all about community! And always looking for opportunities to share Mantra Moves™ the class, and journal at mindful gatherings, events, festivals and retreats. Mantra Moves™ the journal also makes the perfect gift for any yogi or person on a mission of personal growth. Wholesale opportunities available for the journal.
