Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christian Coleman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christian, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing my self esteem and confidence was not easy. I’m an only child and for us it’s either sink or swim when it comes to putting ourselves out there. I really had to overcome my safe space of being by myself and developing a sense of community. I can remember my first big international trip. I was selected for a student ambassador program to explore Australia for 2 weeks with 39 other students. I was terrified but I knew that this was an opportunity of a lifetime and in order to gain everything out of the experience I had to develop my confidence. That trip not only was one of my best life experiences but it was also life changing. Taking on an incredible adventure, on a different continent, at the age of 12 without my parents and with other kids my age that I didn’t know but would eventually become best friends with, set the trajectory of who you see today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I curate a solo travel page that helps travelers find the confidence to travel safely and confidently. My page is a mix of solo travel inspiration, safety tips, worldwide destinations mixed with some wacky adventures. I started my page almost 3 years ago and developed a community of travelers that are eager to see the world. What I’m most excited about right now is expanding my solo travel brand to start professionally planning travel and dream vacations for others. I want to start helping others see the world and fall in love with it just like I have. I will be launching these new travel ventures soon. Stay in touch by following my Instagram @forever_christian and keeping up to date with everything that’s coming soon.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have impacted would be determination, humility and curiosity. Being in a creative space you have to be determined to not give up even when the vision doesn’t look like you want it. Being determined in any circumstance is so important. Having humility to be able to seek mentorship and learn is also important. It’s okay to ask for help. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Everything you need to know someone has already done. I just had to find seek it. And lastly stay curious. Be curious about the world and other people and yourself. Always having a thirst for adventure and learning has been so impactful for my journey.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal clients would be people are ready to venture into the world of solo traveling. You don’t have to jump in the deep end but just wanting to get your feet wet in the travel space is great. I would love to work and partner with eager people who are ready to conquer their fears, try new things and take control of their safety abroad.
