Meet Nicole Hinchman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Hinchman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nicole , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
TIME! PERIOD! Confidence is built from an everyday discipline of talking kind to yourself, being your biggest cheer leader if you will! I often say in the morning “come on girl!! You got this! You will inspire today!” Using positive self talk is huge!
When I look in the mirror and like my outfit, even if it’s not for everyone, I say “you look GOOD girl!!”
On the bad days, overwhelming days, the days I want to throw my hands up in the air, I say “you need a break!”
I have a coffee, take a nap, watch a movie, go for a walk! Whatever I need at that moment is what I do!
I also remind myself that I KNOW I’m a good person, trying my best to be kind, compassionate and understanding, so when someone is mean, bully like I say to myself, “that is them!! Not you “
I have found that when we remind ourselves everyday of how good we are trying to be, the efforts that we are putting forth is our best for THAT day, then confidence will grow!
Believe me when I tell you it has nothing to do with compliments from others, how much NEW ‘stuff’ you may get, it’s all about self talk!
So with that always start and end your day with gratitude, love and humility!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My brand started after loosing my father! It was like a boulder ran me over and said what are you waiting for! I’m thankful for that because I had so much energy, built up emotions from loosing him, it became my outlet!
I started slow, I worked on taking a picture of my daily outfits and posting on Instagram!
Then I built my website, that took me forever because I had no prior knowledge on how to do that! That is when I realized “I got this”
When you push yourself even when life is comfortable that is when the best things happen!
After that it became like a giant snow ball building and building!
Now having experience with collaborating with brands, backstage management for fashion shows, designer interviews, a line of head fascinators and clothing line in the making it’s really become its own beast!
I encourage kindness, reminding people it’s ok to be your unique self and above all to know life isn’t perfect and I’M NOT perfect and that is ok!
Encouraging woman to feel their best through fashion using art elements and principles!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I always say slow and steady wins the race to myself! Of course we want everything YESTERDAY, that’s not reality! There’s a reason for that saying Rome wasn’t built in a day!
Every day do one thing! If that one thing is to rest and be a couch potato, THAN DO THAT!!!
Mindset! Stay positive and on the days you can’t be tell yourself it’s ok!
Last, never EVER stop, because that one last piece to the puzzle can be on its way to you tomorrow!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My family!!! My son Frankie and husband Kenny are always saying you got this mama! When you have support in your everyday life there is nothing better!
Ok so the kitchen isn’t clean, ITS OK!
You aren’t at everything ALL the time! ITS OK!
Knowing that they see what I do for our family and what I am working on for all of our future is huge!
