Meet Ahna Mikl

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ahna Mikl a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ahna, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I had always struggled with my health, from a very young age. I suffered from PCOS, painful periods, irregular periods, chronic lower back pain, ovarian cysts, IBS, bloating, constipation, and hormonal imbalances and was put on birth control at the age of 14 years old to “mitigate” these symptoms. At the time, it seemed like an okay solution, but it was really just a band-aid for underlying imbalances and energetic blockages in my body. In my mid-20’s, I decided to go off of birth control and really take my health into my own hands. After stopping this medication, I continued to struggle with hair loss, hormonal imbalances, ovarian cysts, and other symptoms even after consulting with several specialists. Eventually, I was introduced to the work of regenerative detoxification, which is a healing modality that focuses on cleansing the body of toxins and impurities so that it can do the healing that it knows how to do. A clean body heals itself. After being introduced to detoxification, this was the start of my TRUE healing journey. Symptoms in my body started to reverse with simple changes and new found knowledge that I had spent years trying to get rid of prior to that. I became so passionate and curious to learn more about why inflammation was finally beginning to leave my body, and so I decided to go back to school to become a Certified Regenerative Health Practitioner. At the time, I was still working my corporate career in Account Management, but I knew that my journey was leading me elsewhere. I had always known (deep down) that I was supposed to be working with women to help them in their health, but I never knew how or what I would be doing. After graduating with my certification in detoxification, I decided to start supporting women on their health journey and ended up quitting my corporate career to pursue my own health coaching business to help women get to the root cause of their symptoms. While supporting other women, I continued to dive deeper into my healing journey, which led me to exploring more of the emotional and spiritual body and the root cause reasons for why there were energetic blockages in my body in the first place. I explored other healing modalities such as acupuncture, Qigong, plant medicine, energy healing, meditation, sound healing, and frequency therapy (to name a few) to start working through these blockages and began to understand that most symptoms and conditions in the physical body start out energetically. Suppressed emotions, trauma, and other feelings that are not processed throughout our lives will manifest as physical symptoms later in life, and this is now at the core of what I teach women. My work with women is truly holistic and supportive of the whole person, with detoxification being the foundation. Our cells and tissues store memory, and the body keeps score. Diet changes through detoxification and simple bio hacks and modalities from the earth can begin to free the body of these stored memories, and true healing can begin. My mission and purpose is to EMPOWER women, to help them understand that they are truly their OWN healer and that we have sovereignty over our health. As long as you have the right knowledge and resources, the body can begin healing. I am deeply passionate about helping women heal their womb space and their reproductive organs – anyone struggling with PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, fibroids, PMS, painful cycles, painful s*x, s*xual trauma, and more.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My greatest passion in life is helping women heal their bodies on a root cause level, specifically anyone who struggles with any reproductive organ or womb space imbalances. I struggled with PCOS, IBS, hormonal imbalances, chronic lower back pain, and pelvic pain for the majority of my life without proper guidance or resources on how to really begin healing my body. I understand that many women struggle with the same or similar symptoms, and it is now my deepest passion to help women heal on a root cause level with the holistic resources and knowledge that helped me change my entire life! I understand how frustrating it can be to not feel heard, or to consistently be pointed back to birth control for cycle and hormonal imbalances.

My mission is to help women step into their most vibrant selves by empowering them with simple tools to nourish and restore balance in the body, balance hormones, support womb wellness, reverse age, eliminate cycle pain, and detoxify what no longer serves their beautiful bodies.

I support women on their healing journey with my 90 day 1:1 coaching program: “Well Woman: How to restore menstrual and hormonal wellness to reclaim your vitality,” where I empower them with knowledge on the root cause of dis-ease, how to detox properly, iridology, how to shift energetic blocks, womb and gut cleansing, frequency therapy, and so much more. I also offer group detoxification classes throughout the year that are promoted on my website.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important skills or areas of knowledge that were most impactful on my journey were:

1) Meditation and rest: Really taking the time to get quiet and tune in with my soul has been one of the most profound tools on my healing journey. So often, our minds are so busy with unnecessary chatter…and when we can take the time to really get quiet, it puts everything into perspective and we can approach life and decisions from a place of peace. As women, society praises us for functioning out of our masculine energy and we’ve become so detached from our bodies and our soul. It’s become our normal to overachieve, to control, to have an attachment to productivity or success, and to operate out of our mind. We often sacrifice our needs to please others, and it’s hard for many of us to really sit and just “be” or “receive” as our bodies want us to. Taking conscious time to rest, relax, dance, create, and be in community with others has been so impactful on my healing journey.

2) Developing a new relationship with food: When I started to gain knowledge of how the human body actually works and why dis-ease happens and what foods cause inflammation, it was easy to begin nourishing my body with the right foods. For me, I definitely had an emotional connection to food prior to learning what certain food was actually doing in my body. Once I learned what foods cause acidosis in the body and increase inflammation, I was able to start viewing food as “nourishment” and I developed a completely new relationship with food. Not only this, but I began to change the bacteria inside of my gut which caused me to have different (healthier) cravings over time as well, and I’ve never been healthier or felt better in my body!

3) Mentorship: Learning from other people who have walked this path before me has been such a profound part of my healing journey. I think that it’s important to listen to your intuition and forge your own path on your healing journey as well, but having guidance from someone who is skilled and has been on the healing journey themselves is so key. Working with people who empower you with knowledge so that you can make your own informed decisions is also so important, which is exactly what I aim to do with my own clients. Once you have root cause knowledge on healing the body, it allows you to see things from an entirely new perspective and you see that you DO have sovereignty over your health!

How would you describe your ideal client?
My services are particularly beneficial for women and young women who have experienced or have PCOS, poor gut health, imbalanced hormones, endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, abortion(s), miscarriage(s), rape, molestation, s*xual trauma, multiple s*x partners, painful menstrual cycles, hysterectomy, womb surgeries, shame, guilt, fear, infertility, and more.

The intention behind my work is to offer a holistic approach to healing, recognizing that our experiences are not limited to the physical realm but also impact our energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual selves. My offerings serve as a catalyst for healing, providing support, and promoting a sense of empowerment, regeneration, and restoration for all women.
