Susan, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Adventure always frees me from the daily grind and allows me to see things in a new light. Adventure can be experiences, meeting new people, doing something I haven’t done before, doing something I have done before a totally new way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
New Media Film Festival® is in its 14th year. Each year is completely new. Stories and technology from all over the globe submit for consideration for $45,000 in awards and the judges from HBO, Marvel, Emmys, BMI, Grammys, Simon & Schuster, PBS, BBC and more. In addition, we are now hybrid so creators that cannot attend in Los Angeles can have an online screening and Q & A The in person has an International Art Exhibit, VIP Soiree/Networking Screenings, Q & A and Awards Ceremony. All nominees are considered for the grand prize award and the winners are announced at the festival, not before.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Believing in the power of story. Assess often, what is working, what is not, why and implement any adjustments.
Learning every day, all facets of existence.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Do you have a business that helps move story forward (could be technology, streaming, education, etc.) or are you a leader in your field wishing to expand your thoughts and implement some or all? That is what moves me, collaboration for a common good cause.
