Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rickie Perryman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rickie, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Keeping creativity alive isn’t the easiest thing to do. Sometimes I feel like my creativeness isn’t there at all. Browsing Pinterest believe it or not is the best way I know how to keep myself feeling creative. Seeing everyone else with all of their ideas spark an idea of my very own. Sometimes I could look at a color scheme and have an idea just like that. Everything around me gives me an idea.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My brand is all about anime. At Nelli Ichiba, we sell 90’s themed anime merch. Anime has been a thing for everyone for years, and the 90’s are my best time period. I thought it would be amazing to merge the two, especially when the best anime shows came out around that time period.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience, communication, and teamwork.
Without patience, my brand would not have grown to where it is today. I had to learn to have a lot of patience in order for things to go smoothly as possible.
Communication is KEY when it comes to a brand. Learning to communicate with your customers and others you work with can have a positive impact on your brand.
TEAMWORK TEAMWORK TEAMWORK. You are not alone in everything. There’s help out there if you’re willing to take it. Teamwork definitely does make the dreamwork. That statement is 1000% true. Without the help I’ve gotten from friends and family, I don’t know where my brand would be right now.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
One big challenge I’m currently facing is knowing when to move on to the next step. I mean that in everything that I do. Sometimes I get stuck and don’t know what I want to do next, or what would be the appropriate route to take next, and learning to get thorough that has been a challenge in itself.
