Meet Marvin Bonheur

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marvin Bonheur. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Marvin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I think my resilience comes from my childhood, when you are born as a black man in a white country which favors the color and cultural codes of bourgeois backgrounds you have to fight and prove all the time, I have always found that unfair and I have been angry for a long time but responding with thoughtless violence does not achieve anything concrete, so I had to find other ways to combat these injustices.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I work as a free artist, i started to do a documentary about my childwood in parisian no-go-zone since that i stayed focus on the forgotens faces in differents city around the world, my work is a mix between poesie and politic. I try to share how much people from hood are beautiful by the culture and caracter force. I went to London, Detroit usa, Shanghai, french islands, Lisboa and others territory with alway the same objectif, broke the stereotype or explain them. When im staying in Paris i do fashion photography to make money but still working with diffenrent brand and agency trying to expose the divercity of bodies.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I alway say “work hard no cap” we from the ground, we have nothing to loose. Maybe the motivation, also be a good person sharing respect to everyone no matter how they look we can lurn about everyone no matter age, skin colors, dress… last be humble and curious always do a terapy about ourself and your life follow your dream but stay focus with the reality of life and growup step by step that’s my life codes.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I do differents arts, i’m dj but not seriousely thing, i do Painting, Tattoo i also like cinema and music so when i’m overwhelmed i breathe and take a break one day or two. Just do everything you want if you an artist or creative its normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes just take distance with your art.
