We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sheena Lance-Nold. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sheena below.
Sheena , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
“My mom is happiest when…never, nothing makes her happy.” As I read the words on the page I fought back tears. My 4 year old son had brought home a Mother’s Day assignment from Pre-K and this assignment was the wake-up call I needed. After seeing myself through my son’s eyes, I knew I needed to make some changes. I started therapy the next week. Therapy and coaching have been part of my life ever since. It’s why I started my coaching practice. I recognized I was simply going through the motions instead of truly living. Now I help others build a life they love..
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a Work/Life Synergy Coach™️, I help you ALIGN your life with purpose and fulfillment.
My proprietary ALIGN coaching process helps clients build a personalized framework to live and work aligned with their values:
Articulate your core values,
Lay out values-aligned goals,
Implement actionable habits,
Grapple with limiting beliefs, and
Navigate your growth towards a more balanced and harmonious life.
I work with clients who are experiencing significant challenges in managing their work and personal life, and are seeking a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. This client may exhibit the following characteristics:
* Ambitious Professionals: They are driven and ambitious individuals who have demanding careers or are focused on achieving specific career goals. They might be entrepreneurs, executives, managers, or professionals in high-pressure industries.
* Workaholics: They have a tendency to overwork and struggle to disconnect from their job, leading to a lack of time and energy for other essential aspects of life, such as family, relationships, hobbies, and self-care.
* Stressed and Overwhelmed: They feel overwhelmed by their daily responsibilities and experience high levels of stress, which can affect their overall well-being and mental health.
* Striving for Meaning: They are seeking a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in their life, wanting to align their actions with their core values to find greater satisfaction and fulfillment.
* Desire for Balance: They recognize the importance of achieving a work-life balance and are willing to make positive changes in their habits and mindset to achieve it.
* Open to Coaching: They are open-minded and receptive to coaching, willing to explore and address limiting beliefs or behaviors that may be hindering their progress.
* Committed to Growth: They are committed to personal growth and are eager to invest time and effort into their own development to achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My favorite part of what I do is helping clients develop their personalized framework to live and work aligned with their values. So often we try to follow someone else’s process, but we all have different values and priorities.
I’m most excited about my course that is launching soon.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities I embody that have helped me get to where I am are resilience, purpose, and resourcefulness.
I see the big picture vision of what I want my life to be. I use a method called future self guided imagery meditation to help my clients envision what they want for their future, and I personally use this same method.
This vision gives me a sense of purpose with every step along the way. Starting a new business is challenging, and it can be lonely. I have had to learn so many new skills and become a beginner at so many things. My resilience and resourcefulness have helped me find teachers and mentors to navigate this learning process.
The number one piece of advice I would give to someone starting on the journey of entrepreneurship is find a community of others who are where you are, a little further along, and those with your dream business.
These may be different communities, but having a friend you can learn with is so valuable. It remind you that you’re not alone. Having someone a little further along gives you a model of how you can grow your business. And watching (maybe from afar) someone with your dream business shows you what’s possible.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Collaboration is one of my core values. I love working with others and getting new ideas or perspectives. I’d love to collaborate with podcast hosts who talk about work/life balance, leadership, coaching, and talent development.
I am a certified facilitator and I love presenting workshops, trainings, events, and keynotes.
Workplace culture, employee onboarding, coaching, and leadership development are topics that energize me. Anyone who is interested in discussing these topics is welcome to reach out! [email protected]
