Meet Paige Parsons Roache

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Paige Parsons Roache a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
After losing my brother at a young adult age, and having several challenges growing up and moving around, i found my inner joy and peace by doing work on my self. also, finding reverend Michael Beckwith of agape spiritual center in my twenties, i felt like i arrived home with the positive influence and energy. i figure it feels better to be a happy person rather than a grump! also, when i look at something positively, and bring that energy, it’s inspiring to others!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a committed eco-vegan advocate, celebrating 8 years of vegan living, making the switch after being shocked by the environmental impact of animal agriculture, as highlighted in the documentary “COWSPIRACY.” My daughter Katelyn went vegan, for her it was for the animals, 6 months prior. At my first pig vigil with LA Animal Save/Animal Save Movement, I looked into the eyes of innocent pigs, of which i used to eat bacon, hot dogs and pepperoni, realizing the true motivation for my daughter’s choice. As a guest chef on Jane Velez-Mitchell’s UnchainedTV’s LunchBreakLIVE, I became inspired and later joined UnchainedTV as a Contributor, reporting on animal rights activism and events. Later, I rose through the ranks to become Booker for the daily cooking show LunchBreakLIVE, Senior Booker and Communications Director of UnchainedTV and co-producer/co-host of Plant Based In the ‘Burbz cooking show and lifestyle brand. In the kitchen, i use humor and inspiration to show simple recipe alternatives to encourage more plant-based eating. I also produce community events for activists of all kinds to involved. In addition, I work with organizations and groups to get the word out about their projects, such at Gwenna Hunter and Vegans of LA vegan Food Bank.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
i learned early on in my journey that collaborating is key. finding other hard working, focused, caring individuals or groups to work on a project with makes it more fun and you can get the word out easier. i also learned that communication is so important, even when it seems scary or awkward, do it anyways! anyone, i mean anyone, is approachable, if you the right energy. be a giver, not a taker. come from a mindset of abundance, there’s enough for everyone, and lift others up as you go along.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
With our lifestyle brand Plant Based in the Burbz, my partner Sherri and I are looking for speaking opportunities, podcast interviews and brand collaborations. Feel free to reach out to us if you have a vegan/plantbased brand you’re prompting. We’d love to give it a spin around the block and possibly do a feature.
