Meet Chelsea Reyes

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chelsea Reyes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chelsea below.

Chelsea , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I think living through the ups and downs of life and coming to a certain level of self awareness has lead me to live in my purpose. I used to be consumed the labels others put on me, the negative mindset and self limiting beliefs that I was told I would amount to. I used to use my pain as an excuses as to why I was the way I was. I used to my families generational curse as an excuse to why I would drink through addiction, go in and out of jail and cheat my way through rehab. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I found my purpose through sobriety and admitting my powerlessness over to the authority of God. My purpose was found through my pain. I have now overcome my addictions and generational curses and help other woman find their own power through the lifestyle of health and fitness.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a women’s online health & fitness coach. I help women who struggle with being overweight step into their power and breakthrough any self limiting beliefs they have on their ability to lose weight. The most exciting part about helping these women is that they are able to see my rock bottom story and believe it is possible for them. Not only do I help women start their fitness journey to become a better, healthier version of themselves but I also help mentor their mindset from one of self-limiting beliefs to one of optimism & mental toughness. Helping women breakthrough their fitness journey is not only my passion but it is God’s purpose over my life because had I not went through what I’ve been through I would not have the grace & ability to be able to help hundreds of women from around the world. I am currently accepting women who are +200lbs that are beginners at their journey and want to learn how to lose weight while enjoying the foods you love.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important skills to build on your journey of self development is integrity, patience & grace. My advice building these qualities is that they all tie in to each other. Making sure you are doing what you said you were going to do when no body is watching, having the patience to stick through the promises you make to yourself on your journey and giving yourself the grace when life happens and things don’t go your way. My motto is to always become 1% better than yesterday. Life WILL happen and when it does, its up to YOU to decide how long you are going to sit in the pity party about it, or you can use the pains of life as fuel to become a better version of yourself. 99% of your problems isn’t the actual problem, it’s your REACTION to the problem that determines your future. So Be patient in the process, give yourself grace if you mess up and build the skill of integrity to your word.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
My top book I would say was the most impactful and one that I constantly revisit when I want to go back to basics is Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book helps you learn how to beak bad habits and develop new ones with the power of habit stacking. One of the key things I took away from this book is how to make a habit appealing to your current routine. This book taught me how to write down my habits by the month, day and hour which helps me feel organized and accomplished. Also, This book helps you define what a win looks like to you in your life and the importance of “small wins” that help you feel like you are achieving something everyday which keeps you inspired to continue your journey.
