We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tahlia L’Oreal a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tahlia , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Through my journey of healing and self discovery, I have learned to embody my uniqueness and authenticity. There is no one in the world like me, just like there is no one in the world like you, and that is our superpower! Knowing that alone, gives me the self confidence to navigate any situation. Whether people stare at me because I am the only black woman in the room, my “mystical/witchy” essence or BOTH, I feel that people are drawn to me regardless and I’ve learned to welcome the stares with open arms.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Through my spiritual gifts, I use a blend of tarot, spiritual counseling, mediumship, and divine channeling to help others heal and find their souls purpose and divine calling. I work with a wide array of clients from celebrities, musicians, CEO’s, and what most would consider “everyday people”.
I also curate and host spiritual events such as goddess circles, reiki and sound baths, and private spiritual initiations. I also channel psychic messages for large audiences. One of my most popular events is called “Mystical Mixer” which I like to call the “Official Party for Mystics”. Me and my team travel to different cities all over country healing through music, sound bath, yoga, live performances and Psychic Readings by me.
I am also a filmmaker, actress, model, singer, and performer. I wrote, starred in, and produced a short film called “KUPAA” that was considered in film festivals but has not yet been released to the public. I released my first single last year called “Turn Me On” which I am super proud of! I made a vow this lifetime to do all of the things I love and express all of my talents, no matter what because as a life path 9, this is my last incarnation on this planet. Hence my strong desire to embody all the different facets of me as a multidimensional being.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am grateful for my corporate commercial banking experience that truly prepared me to become an entrepreneur, Those skills and licenses acquired while in that industry helped keep me grounded and a tad more business savvy than some that decide to dive into full time business owners.
I am also grateful for the connections I built in the media, entertainment, and music industry when I first became an entrepreneur as I am now seeing those connections and relationships come full circle from a more spiritual aspect. I am very excited to see how the world of entertainment and music can merge with the more spiritual, witchy aspect of life.
I am extremely grateful for my psychic gifts and talents that have allowed me to merge both the material aspect of life and the more divine and mythical aspect that many consider taboo but in all actuality both worlds go hand in hand.
I would advise those who are early in their journey of self discovery to learn as many skills as possible from both a spiritual and material. For me, balancing spirituality and practicality are the recipe for living the life of your dreams.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Well, if I had to choose one book that changed my life, it is called “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. The book was gifted to me by my sister Tiffany back in 2010 when I was slaving at a stressful 9-5, unfulfilled and disappointed with the trajectory of my life even though I was financially stable. For those that aren’t familiar, (even though I believe most of you all have heard of it) the book speaks about the importance of keeping a positive mindset through your thoughts, feelings, and emotions and thus attracting more positive experiences. That book was one, if not THE catalyst of my spiritual awakening and ultimately me deciding to go on my Spiritual Quest towards my destiny. Change your mind, change your life.
