Hilary, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?
Overcoming creativity blocks demands a delicate dance between engagement and introspection. Forcing creativity only worsens the block; instead, allow ideas to simmer subconsciously.
Imagine your creative journey is a person wandering through the desert. You know ultimately you want to exit the desert and reach your destination. But the trail that’s marked won’t get you to your destination. You have to instead become present in the moment, become one with your surroundings, and the path will reveal itself to you.
It’s critical to let ideas mature in the recesses of your mind. Grant yourself the space for ideas to evolve organically. Create an environment conducive to genuine creativity.
In professional settings, constant output doesn’t ensure success. Recognize the value of contemplation; it yields innovation. Release self-imposed deadlines and pressures, allowing ideas to blossom at their own pace.

Reflecting on my journey, I’ve found that it’s not so much the hard skills I bring to the table that have changed my course in life the most, but the soft skills; namely: curiosity, positivity, and kindness. As they say, people will not remember the things you’ve done, but how you made them feel. Business and success are exactly the same. It’s all about relationships – both with yourself and with others.
Curiosity led me to new horizons, fueling my thirst for knowledge. Embrace it fully—keep an open mind, ask questions, and seek understanding. This will keep you moving forward in your career and in your personal life. Stagnation is the root of all boredom.
Positivity sustained me through triumphs and trials alike, turning setbacks into opportunities. This is especially true in group dynamics. A positive attitude bolsters the entire team and helps to cultivate resilience. Focus on solutions, not obstacles, and face each day with unwavering optimism. No one likes a negative nelly, especially when times are tough.

“The Giver” by Lois Lowry, which I read for the first time when I was twelve years old, had a very profound and lasting impact on my development.
For starters, its focus on the role of individuality and the dangers of a society built on conformity empowered me to follow my passion for writing.
The novel’s exploration of memory, emotion, and the pursuit of truth also encouraged me to apply critical thinking and empathy in shaping my own meaningful existence.
And finally, it’s exploration of bravery gave me to courage to fight back against societal norms and be willing to challenge authority despite the risks. True impact comes from taking the path less traveled, even when you can’t always anticipate the outcomes.
