Meet Diana Morrison

We recently connected with Diana Morrison and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Diana with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic came as a result of being born of a generation where work made a person strong, and happy and where they found their value. As the years evolved, the desire for more work-life balance came and both partners supported the family and the household needs.
My work ethic is and has always been driven by my desire to succeed, be an example to others, and make a difference every day for those I am working for whether that be the company’s bottom line, or our clients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
After a life change, starting a Promotional advertising company from scratch 36 years ago that supports companies large and small to effectively promote success has always given me joy. My company’s growth has mirrored that of the companies we support.

Employing the right team with the right goals allows us to support many nonprofits throughout the country.
Giving back is an important part of who we are as a team, mentoring others, and bringing others forward has always been a part of who we are and where we place our philanthropic focus.

Our small but mighty team is predominantly comprised of women, working hard to make a difference in our personal and community’s lives.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the areas of expertise I learned through trial and error are the ones that have empowered me the most.

I would say my top three learned skills would be, asking good questions, building a good team, and finding good resources that all companies need like CPA, legal counsel, and HR professionals.

My advice to all new business owners is three simple things.

If you can do it by yourself, do it, and don’t have a partner, partnerships are like marriages, they require lots of work and compromise taking the eye off the mission of the business.
Always remember that in business cash is KING! Money costs Money, have as much of your own as possible before you start.
Have a posse of people you can trust and rely on for good solid counsel

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My Mother taught me things I didn’t know I needed to know and utilize every moment of every day.

Patience within reason.
Work for what you want, not for what you need and you will always have enough.
Grace, give it, and receive it often.
Always have resources that allow you to have choices.
