Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eric Goodman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Eric , so great to have you sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our readers and so let’s jump right into one of our favorite topics – empathy. We think a lack of empathy is at the heart of so many issues the world is struggling with and so our hope is to contribute to an environment that fosters the development of empathy. Along those lines, we’d love to hear your thoughts around where your empathy comes from?
I had a lifesaving operation at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital when he was 15 years old. I was in ICU for weeks, the hospital for months, and a full-body cast for nine months. I had to have therapy to learn how to walk again. This is the core reason he began working in healthcare helping people with disabilities and volunteering for charities. I think my past gives me empathy for others with disabilities. My company services 500+ homes for developmentally disabled adults and children and we support thousands of seniors in homecare.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My core value is what I live by and use to run my company. I wish I would developed these early in my business and followed them to lead my journey. You should define your values and use them to lead your life and business. Then you can make decisions based on if someone or something are aligned with your values or not. Mine are:
Caring
Dependable
Honest
I look at everything with these values. Employees, customers, vendors, people, relationships, business deals, etc. I stand by my faith and hold my values strong.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love partnership. I call my customers partners, I call my vendors partners, I call my nonprofits partners. Partnership are a great way to work together to help more people and support the community. I am always open to learn from or help someone with our experiences. Use our Time, Talent and Treasures. My daily motto is Helping Others and Giving Back. It is my passion. It is what we do at my company. It’s what my nonprofits do. If anyone can partner with us to help more people, I am always open to that. If your friends are successful, you are successful. We need to lift each other up to all be successful.
