Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joy Ruffen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Joy, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
It stems from my upbringing. I was raised in a very religious family. In my pre-teen years, I realized it was not for me, I left the church, yet I did not leave GOD. I begin my own journey of self-discovery. The library became my second home, not only because of my immediate curiosity but also because I discovered I had learning disabilities. My trip was into the spiritual world, where I reside to this day. I always felt that there was more for me, and I was destined to grow and share my journey with others,
I chose the Fashion world, and my background absorbed it totally, mainly because of my lovely Church Ladies and a strong sense of aesthetics. Then, after being in it for a while, I began to realize that we as women have been programmed, conditioned, and sexualized to an outdated degree. After I retired, I decided to pick up the banner and begin a movement for women to learn how to dress to showcase their strength, not just their body parts.
One of the best foundational strengths afforded me was always fully understanding what I was doing and doing it with my all; it was the best advice to give a young person.
It refers to “how you do anything is how you do everything.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My focus is on women in leadership. How to stand in the innate confidence that is a given part of our “DIVINE FEMININE.”
We are the Bedrock of Society, yet we are not here to compete with men we are here to be the authentic Equals we are meant to be. No blame and not to lead in the style that men have from the beginning of time.
I work with women who want to dress and adorn their bodies to showcase their strength and beauty regardless of size, shape, height, age, or color.
The time for true equality is here for women, yet we have to realize and know who we are at our core and stop the madness of comparing, coping, and competing with anyone. The only competition has to be within ourselves.
I invite women to begin the journey of self-awareness into self-confidence that will lead to authentic, honest, and genuine self-love.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Staying open to learning, and listening to take it in as it fits, being able to step beyond my environment. the best counseling to give anyone is to begin the journey of knowing who you are at your core. The best leaders learn how to manage their own emotions and tune in to the people that they are here to serve.,
Get around people who are more knowledgeable than you, learn to embrace your mistakes, and grow from them.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
We seek proactive people. The people who are open to learning and open to admitting that they don’t know yet wish to learn more about whatever the topic might be. Seeking those who are more in the spiritual realm and not closed-minded. Truth seekers who remain open to other ways and means of learning than what they are used to.
Those who are confident and it’s real or they are in the process of acquiring it.
