We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ali Waller . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ali below.
Ali , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I know it’s a bit of a cliche to say my kids but it’s honestly them. Both my children were born with rare genetic conditions. They have dealt with so many challenges and have overcome so much. As a single mother and entrepreneur every decision I’ve made has been with them in mind. They inspire me to continue forward and use my talents to create a brighter future for them, myself, and those around me. They’ve made me smarter, more compassionate, and braver than I ever imagined. After my daughter passed away in 2023 from medical complications, I took a step back to heal and reevaluate my path. I’ve had a lot of growth and clarity in the last year. My passion to help others and achieve my dreams have not faded but burn even more. I continue to move forward in her memory and create a legacy for my son .
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for over a decade. I love helping others feel beautiful and confident for all the special moments in their lives. The connections I’ve made within the community have been instrumental in my growth not only as a business owner but also in my personal life. Connecting with others and helping them see their own magic and follow their dreams is such a passion of mine. Recently I have rebranded and Ive just launched Ali Waller Agency, where our mission is to help women in business elevate their brands through connection, collaboration and community. We offer Creative Consulting , Content Creation and Social Media Marketing
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1.Networking and authentic connections. The saying” Your Network is your Net worth” is gospel. But it has to be authentic. A win win for all involved. I genuinely want to connect with others and help them reach their goals. Those connections have served my journey as well. I’m taking everyone to the top with me 2. Develop a love of learning. Our world is constantly evolving and we have to evolve with it. Staying on top of trends, new technologies, and the needs of your clients helps you to grow and stay relevant.
3. Go to therapy! So much of our personal struggles and trauma impact every area of our lives. Healing allows us to shift our mindset and energy. Working from a positive and healthy place allows abundance and opportunities in. We grow when nurtured.
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
Up until a few years ago I was so deep into self help and trying to improve the areas I was lacking. Spoiler alert, it was EXHAUSTING! And only contributed to frustration, anxiety and lack of confidence. Once I stopped and inventoried my strengths and learned how I operated best I began achieving so much more. In 2021 I was diagnosed with ADHD which surprised literally no one. Haha! But us Neurospicy individuals see and experience life in such unique ways. I have learned to embrace my creative flow and work with it , not against it. My creative problem solving has helped not only myself but clients I work with. I love a good puzzle and being able to see both the big picture and details is such a valuable skill. It’s how innovation happens. I’m here to help create positive change. Working in my strengths and collaborating with those who strengths are my weaknesses allows for magic to happen much more often!
