Meet Keturah Miller

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keturah Miller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Keturah, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through my own pain. Growing up in a single-parent household was like a gift and curse, and although I am very grateful for the love, support, and resilience that my mother embodied, not having my father in my life made it a little more difficult to adjust. After learning my father didn’t want anything to do with me at the young age of 7 and also having two additional father figures, one being a step-dad that had committed to adopting me but later on decided he no longer wanted to make that commitment, the abandonment issues were real.

My attachment style was anxious, and this attachment carried on in every relationship I had ever been a part of. I stayed in abusive romantic relationships, just because I didn’t feel as if I was worthy to be in anything else.

But then one day it clicked, and decided I wanted better for myself. The patterns of toxicity and unworthiness had been passed through my lineage for lifetimes and I decided to break the generational cycle.

Through my own healing, I have learned that my purpose in this world is to continue to heal by holding space for others to heal. I don’t want anyone to go through what I have gone through and not remember how worthy they are of loving themselves, knowing their worth and being in the most healthiest experiences. We all deserve that.

Thank you for sharing that. We do all deserve healthy love. Let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I love this quote by Heather Amara. She says that,
“Change is inevitable, but transformation is by conscious choice.”

My focus is helping women become their best self through the power of coaching and healing. As a self-love and personal development coach, I have the opportunity to walk a new journey of transformation with each and every one of my clients. There is power in choosing yourself. There is power in investing in yourself. There is power in asking for help. And this is where I come in, as a guide, I help women commit to radical self-care, authentic expression and support them with a plan to receive all they desire & more fulfillment in life.

In my coaching packages, I offer 3-month, 6-month or one-on-one 90 minutes sessions. For more info, visit: keturahchaldean.com

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1) Letting go of Fear – Fear really does hold us back. It shows up as Imposter Syndrome, Self Judgement, & Negative Talk. If we can remember that these things are truly here to set us back (and often a safety mechanism), remember you are not your thoughts. Ask yourself in those situations of fear, ‘what does my higher self say’?

2) Being honest with myself & self-awareness – at the end of the day, we have all of the answers within us. When it comes to living out your dreams and finding your true soul purpose, ask yourself, “what sets my soul on fire?” And take steps to do just that.

3) Reaching out for support – We are wired to connect with others and there are people out here that can help you. For me, it was hard to ask for help. But once I did, life got really good for me. I hired my first coach and first therapist at the same time and it was the best thing I have done in my life.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played an important role in your development?

The Mountain is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage into Self-Mastery by Brianna Wiest. This book has been such a game changer for me as there are so many incredible messages that are shared about what holds us back, personal development and learning to love and accept ourselves.
