Meet Nakisha Watts

We recently connected with Nakisha Watts and have shared our conversation below.

Nakisha, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Growing up, I always thought I had to be the best at everything that I was involved in and that thought process helped me tremendously while I was young. When I became an adult, with children, a husband, a career, and participating in other community events, being the best at everything became difficult, overwhelming, and stressful. I saw my mom do it all. She cooked, cleaned, worked, took care of the kids and was helpful to others and I thought I just did not have an excuse not to have it (altogether). Until one day I asked her how did you do it all because I’m failing. She stated to me you just didn’t see my struggles and the things I was failing at. I didn’t do it all. It did only the things that involved your well being. My purpose kicked in quickly. I realized that many women were following the idea of perfect women but in reality they were not. I quickly stated I want people to see the real me, all my flaws and still see me kill the game. I quickly started helping women by empowering, educating, and providing resources for women to reach their desired goals by getting a clearer understanding of all the things they have to take care of and become unapologetic of the things they couldn’t do.. My purpose is helping women recognize that they are who they are and do not have to be perfect in every task they are faced.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the owner of SheUplifts, LLC which is designed to uplift and empower women of all ages by educating, coaching, and providing resources to push them to their desired level. We do this by providing workshops such as Balancing Life, Time Management, Identify Your Purpose, Dos and Don’ts of Entrepreneurship, Create Multiple Streams of Income and much more. We empower by creating networking and empowering brunches ,events, and Take Your Monday’s Back (an inspirational hour every other Monday to encourage women especially those who hate Mondays). We provide life coaching, leadership coaching, nonprofit consultations, and business coaching. What I am most excited about is the Millionaire Chic Sisterhood Circle where women who are entrepreneurs, with like minds, and pushing to make millions, joined a community to share and support women in their businesses. This Millionaire Chic Sisterhood Circle consist of 60 women who many have joined together to take on new business ventures and learn from each other. We conduct a Millionaire Chic Event each year (this year March 30, 2024) and women are able to join by participating in this event. We are about to launch Millionaire Chic 2.0 where women can participate in a membership that includes monthly group calls, monthly workshops, monthly business resources, monthly business checklist, monthly one on one Q&A with Dr. Ki, access to millionaire chic 2.0 community and a Digital Planner. We will be also launching, SHE Preaches where there will be real women, talking about real life and having real talk about our everyday struggles. We are looking to expand by providing more life and business coaches, providing inspirational clothing line, Jewlery line, wall art, etc.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe my people skills, my business skills and my love for God are the three qualities that impact my journey the most. I would tell them never stop learning. I was always eager to learn and I wasn’t afraid to say I didn’t know something. I was always willing to learn from other who where doing what I wanted to do. I also didn’t expect others to share their knowledge for free. If they did, Great! If they didn’t, let me know how much it cost. Also don’t wait until you think its perfect. It will never be perfect. Do it afraid and not knowing.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, I am looking for others to partner with to have a larger impact. I cannot do this work alone and expect to change the lives of many. The work is not about me but about helping women see that they are not alone and they can be successful, productive, and effective without having to choose between family, work, and having a life. Any organization or persons who can provide resources to assist women and small business women, I would love to collaborate with them. Organizations who are about missions and can understand the vision will be a perfect match!
