Meet Simon Alcantara

We recently connected with Simon Alcantara and have shared our conversation below.

Simon, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
By feel. Every academic endeavor I have ever started has left me mentally and emotionally drained because there was too much logic and rationalization involved. This exhaustion has guided me to not pursue the careers I studied for. Instead I dedicated myself to hone my musical skills (vocals and guitar), my Yoga practice and teaching, and ultimately my passion as a breathwork facilitator, because there’s so much to feel in these paths, and they are so intertwined. Whenever I’m creating a new Yoga sequence, I’m feeling which songs will pair with certain poses and flows. The exact same thing happens when I’m designing a breathwork session. I’m picturing the rhythms and beats that will allow me to guide the participants through the most appropriate breathing patterns to elevate their experience as much as possible. So much, I wrote a full length album for my last breathwork series.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a breathwork facilitator first and foremost. This path chose me when I was at the lowest point of my life, and gave me purpose once I realized how many people are living lives of quiet desperation, full of pain, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Through breathwork I discovered an inner power that I had no clue we all possessed. The ability to rid ourselves of stored trauma and stuck emotional stress is one of the essential tools of the human body.
Currently I’m focused on reaching the great community of Veterans, and recently had the honor to provide a Yoga and Breathwork to a group of twenty amazing veterans as part of the Wounded Warriors Project.
I’m also about to launch a 90 days Wellness Immersion Program, and just finished writing and recording a full length album to accompany my new breathwork sessions

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Empathy, Compassion and Love are my fuel and my compass for everything I do. Whatever it is that you do, whatever business you’re running. do it with your heart

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is the person next to me at the grocery store, the person in line at the theater, anyone who’s willing to sacrifice and commit in order to excel in life. My ideal client needs to embrace the SUCK, and learn to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations, and willing to put themselves in these uncomfortable situations, always focused on growth
