Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erica Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Erica, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Self-love. I lift myself to the highest pedestal because if I don’t, no one else will. Self esteem starts with self so if I didn’t love myself enough and hold me in high regard, my confidence would take a beating.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My platform is healing and building because I know it’s impossible to build greatness if the foundation is not solid. Healing the core is required for every ascension in life if you’re trying to elevate into a better person.
Along with my platform, I created Building Business Bosses Bootcamp to work with new and established but struggling small business owners on Healing and building. Over 4 weeks, participants will learn everything that’s needed to start and grow a small business as well heal any tolerations that could be blockages within business and life.
What keeps me excited about being a coach is seeing the growth in my clients. My clients are women between the ages of 35 and 60 who already started a business but they haven’t seen the growth they’ve desired or they’ve been wanting to start a business but don’t know where to start. Once I’m able to see their motivation to become an entrepreneur, I’m more apt to choose them as a client as I don’t accept everyone because some folks aren’t coachable.
I’ve created several online courses for small business owners to build their business as well. These courses will help business owners
– understand the importance of Branding and how it’s more than a logo
– determine who their target customer is so they can stop selling to everyone
– learn how to put together a master business plan and what’s included in it
– understand the importance of SEO (search engine optimization) and how it plays a role in website and organic traffic
– learn how to build a solid social media strategy that’ll build a community of customers
Two new courses, Business Credit 101 and Sales Funnel, are currently being created. All courses are available on my website and soon will be on Udemy.
The Building Business Bosses Course is the self paced version to the Bootcamp. Clients can start that anytime and work through it over 4 weeks.
Outside of business coaching, I’m a career coach who specializes in helping clients obtain quality resumes to appease to 6 figure positions Z
I’m also an author (Amazon bestselling author 5 times). I’ve recently released a new novel called Toxic but Addictive. I’ve written over 12 fiction and self help books and all can be found on my website in ebooks or purchasing hard copies.
Not to mention I’m a Fl notary public and wedding Officiant. I’ve learned that several streams of income are required to build wealth.
I’m currently booked for a speaking event in May during Memorial Day Weekend. I house all business and real life videos on my YouTube channel and they’re very informative. Last, I created two business building groups on Facebook – one is free and one requires a monthly subscription.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Failure – very impactful because without it, I wouldn’t be a winner! Every small business owner has to fail in order to evolve into an entrepreneur.
Resilience – very impactful because without it, I wouldn’t have dusted myself off and tried again at being a business owner. It’s a rough journey but when you stop adding a price to it and start paying for your growth, it’s very easy to be resilient.
Straightforwardness – very impactful because this attracts my customer. My clients can already see that I’m not going to play the radio with them. They can tell I will hold them accountable because if they don’t meet me halfway, all of this was for nothing.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal clients are women between the ages of 25 to 60 years old who are small business owners or possess a profitable side business that can evolve into a 6 figure business. My clients biggest problem is business growth – they just don’t know where to start or what it looks like.
My clients are coachable because they recognize that if they had all the answers, there wouldn’t be any struggles in life or business. My clients gross between $35k and $75k in salary and many are tired of working for someone else.
My clients are seeking a way to leave the workforce and pass down a profitable business to their children or grandchildren. My clients understand that you cannot make money until you spend money because if they already had all the answers, they’d be wealthy.
