We were lucky to catch up with Erin Didyoung recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erin , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Hello, I’m Erin Didyoung and I found my purpose by seeing needs in the community that needed to be fulfilled. There are so many problems that I’m passionate about solving. I wholeheartedly believe that when God puts something on your heart, it’s because he’s calling you to take a stand on that problem. And he put a ton of issues on my heart, so I decided what better way to take a stand than to partner with a nonprofit or municipality that is already trying to make a difference. I can use my talents to help not just one problem, but all the issues that tug at my heart.
In 2021, I founded Faithful Marketing & Events with this purpose in mind: to empower non-profit organizations and municipalities to not only survive but thrive in their missions and visions. My journey began in the hospitality industry, where I honed my skills in customer engagement, service excellence, and event management. Transitioning into festival production, I further developed my expertise in creating memorable events that foster a sense of community.
Through my educational background in Integrated Marketing Communications and leadership, I gained the tools to approach challenges with creativity and strategy. Alongside my certification in International Events and Wedding Planning, I expanded my knowledge and expertise in event management.
But it was my passion for supporting non-profits and municipalities that truly fueled my purpose. I believe these organizations are the bedrock of our society, tirelessly working to make the world a better place. Partnering with them allows me to address a multitude of issues close to my heart, from fundraising to marketing and event management.
My purpose became clear as I aligned my skills and experiences with my desire to make a positive impact on the world. By combining my talents with my passion for service, I found fulfillment in helping those who work tirelessly to address the issues that tug at my heartstrings. And through Faithful Marketing & Events, I continue to strive towards making a difference.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey with Faithful Marketing & Events, I believe three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge have been most impactful:
1. Creativity and Adaptability: Don’t be afraid to try new things and think outside the box. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that innovation and creativity are essential for success, especially in an ever-changing industry like marketing and events. Being adaptable and open to new ideas has allowed me to stay ahead of the curve and find unique solutions to challenges.
2. Resilience: Stay resilient, things won’t ever go as planned, but a lot of times things work out better. Resilience is key in entrepreneurship. There have been countless setbacks and challenges along the way, but each one has taught me valuable lessons and made me stronger. By staying resilient and maintaining a positive attitude, I’ve been able to overcome obstacles and keep moving forward, even when things seemed bleak.
3. Faith and Trust: As a Christian, I’ve learned to feel comfortable being uncomfortable because I trust Jesus works everything out for my good and his glory. So whatever your faith, when you can be comfortable in uncomfortable situations, that’s where you will grow and learn more about yourself. The more you know about you, the better suited you’ll be to figure out what your purpose is for others. Trusting in a higher power and having faith in the journey has been crucial for me. It’s helped me navigate uncertainty and find meaning even in the most challenging times.
For those who are early in their journey, my advice would be to embrace these qualities:
– Be Open to New Experiences: Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try new things. You never know where your next opportunity or breakthrough might come from.
– Stay Resilient: Understand that setbacks are a natural part of the journey. Instead of dwelling on failures, use them as opportunities to learn and grow.
– Trust the Process: Have faith in yourself and in the journey ahead. Trust that everything happens for a reason and that even the toughest challenges can lead to growth and success.
By embracing these qualities and staying true to yourself, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and ultimately find fulfillment and success in your journey. Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all path to success, so stay in your lane and trust in your own unique journey.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to train me to be a problem solver. From a young age, they instilled in me the value of taking initiative and finding solutions to challenges, no matter how big or small. If anything, I mean ANYTHING, came up and I didn’t know how to do it or an issue arose, I learned to figure out what needed to be done and do it. Whether that meant calling someone I knew who was an expert in the topic or looking up a YouTube video, I never said, “I don’t know” or “I don’t know how.” Instead, I embraced the mindset of “I’ll figure it out and get it done.”
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my parents, Keith and Ellen Didyoung, for teaching me this invaluable skill. Their guidance and support have shaped me into the resourceful and resilient individual I am today. Their belief in my ability to tackle any challenge has given me the confidence to face adversity head-on and overcome obstacles in both my personal and professional life. So, thank you, Mom and Dad, for empowering me to be a problem solver and for setting me on the path to success.
