Meet Dallas Jack

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dallas Jack. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dallas below.

Dallas, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
I look at burnout as a sign that I’m doing something I shouldn’t be doing.

I’m grateful to be in a position where I truly enjoy my work. When I’ve experienced burnout in the past I find it’s usually because I’ve expanded in ways I shouldn’t have or am working on projects I likely should have handed to a teammate who would be more invested in it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve been a career music producer most of my life. Working with artists and songwriters in studios has been the backbone of what I do. In the last two years, we expanded the company to a full-label services multimedia production company with the launch of Spade Creative. This allows us to take artists through the songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, all the way to marketing, publicity, and video production—a one-stop shop for the artist’s career.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Networking – I’ve been the product of mentors and relationships. Most the skills I use daily I learned from people far better than me at them. By intentionally putting myself in rooms where I could meet the right people it’s allowed me to excel in business at a younger age.

Willpower – I know all too well the feeling of being pushed beyond my limit. Keeping my mental and physical health in check has been a key piece of staying calm under pressure and handling the strenuous pieces of an industry as atypical as the one I operate in.

Agency – “The sense of agency refers to this feeling of being in the driving seat when it comes to our actions.” – This means anything I do I am fully responsible for. When running a business, making difficult decisions, or handling things that are out of my control, I may not be able to control the extemporaneous circumstances that happen around me, but I will definitely be in control of how I react to them. Making good decisions under pressure has been extremely valuable in my life.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m the kind of person who will entertain most ideas. If someone wants to talk they can find me at [email protected]

Artists, businesses, and influencers are our main client base. We would welcome a conversation with anyone who has an idea they want to see happen.
