Meet Kimberly Dedyne

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kimberly Dedyne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kimberly, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
Listen, let me tell you about Alfred and Phyllis! lol

I grew up in a household where there was always faith and joy present. The one thing we would consistently do as a family was laugh. My parents always had an ability to laugh in every situation so much so that I have carried that on to this day. Our faith rooted in God has caused us to always see the brighter sides of situations and to believe that it will always get better. Keeping God in the forefront and joy in our hearts we could literally get through anything. To this day, many people recognize my parents through the smiles of my sister and me because they are used to seeing them smile and be full of life. I can’t deny my smile and optimism even if I tried!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hey Hey, Y’all! My name is Kimberly A. Dedyne (rhymes with Divine) and I am a wife of 8 years. I am also the Chief Candle Kimist and CEO of Pure Kimistry, where we are the missing element to your luxury aromatic experience! This means that we create hand-poured candles and curate CandleLIT experiences with your moments, memories, and vision in mind. We also provide personally-branded candles for companies, conferences, retreats, weddings, and other events.

As The Chief Candle Kimist, I am a skilled artisan and Holy Spirit-led visionary who combines the art of candle crafting with a deep understanding of aromatic chemistry. With a passion for creating unique and purposeful scents, I carefully select high-quality ingredients to produce candles that go beyond typical fragrances. My expertise extends to incorporating Holy Spirit-led candle consultations, allowing for personalized and meaningful experiences for each client. I am dedicated to infusing candles with a blend of creativity, science, and spirituality, aiming to enhance atmospheres and evoke emotions through our crafted creations.

I am also an Author of Reaction of Grace- Journey to My Butterfly Exodus. In this book, I discuss my transformation from being the quiet caterpillar that easily faded into the background to becoming the beautiful colorful butterfly that can stand on my feet, utilize my God-given voice, and be a light in this world. I also have two more books that I am currently writing.

I want people to know that I’m a servant leader at heart and taking care of people is one of my passions. Maya Angelou said “People will forget what you say, people will forget what you do but people will never forget how you make them feel” I am truly all about how people feel when they walk away from an encounter with me and my brands. I want them to feel joy, warmth, excitement, and love. I want them to feel cared for. If my brands do not exude these things then I need to go back to the drawing board and reassess some things.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have a formula that I have been operating by that has kept me on track without getting burned out.

First things first, I had to focus and accept the value that I bring as my authentic self. I cannot be successful in life or my business if I don’t know what I have and the impact my value will have on myself. It does not matter if it’s small or big, impact is impact! It first starts with believing and knowing the vision that you have is of value.

Next, You have to write everything down. Document every idea, every illustration every piece of vision. Everything may not be for right now but if you document it, you can always come back to it when it is time to implement it. As a creative, I see movies and pictures in my mind. It is a must for me to write out all of my ideas because I constantly receive them. Writing is also very healing. If I don’t make room for new ideas, thoughts, concepts, or even instructions on how to execute what I see, I will become stuck, which causes me to lose my creative flow. I am able to keep my heart in check and heal because I am consistently releasing through writing and documenting. It is very cathartic.

Lastly, making sure I get adequate rest is key. I am not the best person when I am tired and sleepy. I already love to laugh but when I am sleepy, I get on a new level. I had to learn the hard way that the hustling mentality is NOT my ministry. I wasn’t created to operate in that way. I make sure I listen to my body and when it’s time to rest I do. Resting doesn’t always mean taking a nap or going on a trip, resting for me also looks like walking away from a task for a little while so I can come back to it with fresh eyes and ears. Resting for me also looks like taking 15 minutes to simply find something to laugh at. Laughter calms me and is one of my favorite things to do.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal clients are women on the go who are about taking care of business. Whether she is the CEO of a Business, household, or life in general, she is being the change that she wants to see in the world. She is ready to incorporate an efficient lifestyle of work-life balance. She is intentional about taking care of herself first, so that she can conquer the world afterwards. She is all about having specialized experiences while redefining what luxury looks like. Her holistic health is truly her wealth!
