We were lucky to catch up with Alexandra Mayr-Gracik recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Alexandra with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My parents. Especially my dad. I grew up in an entrepreneurial household where business was a part of our everyday dinner conversations. I joke that I absorbed most of my business “know-how” just from meals together with my parents.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Head Designer and CEO of a boutique jewelry brand called Sabika. I am a creative and a business leader. A not so common combination. I design jewelry and LOVE seeing it come to life in how our stylists and customers work it into their everyday looks. It goes beyond the jewelry. Sabika is a lightswitch to your inner beauty and sparks confidence in your personal style.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Discipline, perseverance and creativity. Life is the best teacher. I would say stay open to opportunities and develop your intuition by making lots of mistakes and learning from them!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My family has been the most influential for me in terms of learning skills. We each have a very unique skill set and talent and have had the challenging fortune of working together and helping each other grow through the ups and downs.
