We recently connected with Ashley Davidson and have shared our conversation below.

Ashley, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
The desire to prove something to myself. Having an indescribable and relentless force within. True love for what I do and acknowledging how fortunate I am to be in a position of pursuing a career in the film/tv industry.

Understanding wherever I aspire to be Is purely up to me and how much I push myself to reaching those goals is how far I’ll go. “You are your own limit”

Believing in consistency, commitment, and a bit of luck possibilities are limitless.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At a young age I moved from my hometown to Los Angeles, California! With little to no knowledge on the film/tv industry and finances. However, having the support from my best friend, brother and a ton of optimism and passion! There’s been many points where my belief within myself and talents have been tested. I attended a college where a few of the professors told me my acting skill level was low and placed me in classes that weren’t really helping me grow as an actor. I decided after a week to leave and jump right into the industry and go out on auditions. Fortunately, within a few months I booked guest star roles on NBC Universal shows, worked with beyond talented professionals, and over time I have starred in shorts, sketch comedies and a feature film!
Looking forward to acting in a web series and Feature film in 2024.

My focus has always been on my artistic career. Striving for acting in profound and thought provoking films. Alongside some of the greatest professionals in the film/Tv industry. Such as Christopher Nolan and/or Leonardo DiCaprio.

Furthermore, in the future aspiring to expanding a production company I’ve created in a direction of creating impactful and authentic films that not only aids those to believing in themselves but as well as helping those to not feel alone in hardships.

I’m beyond excited to see what the future holds. Hoping to be at a point in my career where I believe I’m preforming at my fullest potential.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe three important assets to strive for while navigating through the film/tv industry is being and maintaining the quality of genuineness. The skill of perseverance. Knowledge that every production has the potential to elevate your career to your desired goal.

To help develop or improve on these, consistently ask yourself why you chose and are in this industry. Focus on those reasons and use them for reminding yourself why these assets are important. I believe that’ll help motivate you to bettering these gifts.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The main challenge I face is Myself. Repeatedly being in my own head. Causing myself to be nervous, stressed and doubting my abilities. Feeling required to over work myself to the point of consuming me entirely. Finally, setting tremendous expectations for myself. Striving for constant perfection and success.

In attempt to overcome these self placed challenges. I focus on learning to trust myself and my instincts. Oftentimes I self assure by rewatching past work and acknowledging the opportunity was given to me for a reason. Talent. Believing I have talent and with training i will eventually reach my fullest potential. Additionally, setting boundaries to create a healthy work life balance. A phenomenal acting coach enlightened me saying “By living and experiencing life it will help me preform authentically and allow me the freedom to take risks in performances.” Finally, surrounding myself with individuals who offer me unconditional support. I oftentimes credit my success to my brother and teacher. Without them I would not be where I am today. Their sacrifices, dedication, and faith in me has empowered all the success I’ve had so far. They are my foundation and offer endless opportunities that are unmeasurable and I’m beyond fortunate and grateful.
