Meet Deborah Hadfield

We were lucky to catch up with Deborah Hadfield recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Deborah, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from my faith. It fills me with hope that love can prevail, regardless of the challenges and obstacles. The more I create the more confidence fuels my attitude of positivity. Also by taking everything as a blessing and focussing on what I am grateful for it supercharges by optimism.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a writer director making movies is a dream come true. I feel deeply blessed that my journey with my company Queen Bee Films has taken me all over the world meeting the most fascinating talented people. My latest movie is The Chocolate Club. The festive romantic comedy focussed on faith, hope and love.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Creativity, determination and kindness. It takes year realise harness theses qualities fully. Trusting your creativity knowing that your voice is important is a key step to being make to write and movies.. Being determined in overcoming any obstacle is personal an overlooked skill as there will lasts be challenges but if you keep taking the next step you will achieve your goals. Kindness is key both in working with collaborating people. And also being kind to yourself. My key advice it to do what you love. Trust yourself and appreciate each experience is a blessing if it’s not what you planned for.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I am overwhelmed there are 3 tactics I use. Prayers always my first option as in all circumstances it’s my guiding light. In bad times I pray for guidance and in good times I say a prayer if thanks. Gratitude is another strategy I have learned changes everything. Whatever your circumstances there are always things to appreciate and it can change how you feel about everything. The final things is reaching out for help or advice from my friends and family. If you want to travel fast, but I have learned id you want to travel far go with other people. Sharing also makes the journey more pleasurable.
