We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tracey Reinecker . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tracey below.
Tracey , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’d have to say my resilience comes from the strong people I grew up around in my family. My Grandmother, Grace and Father, Charles, both had a hand in raising me. They have always been hardworking individuals. Both at work and in the household. Being lazy or mediocre was never an option.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the co owner of The Hive Beauty Bar, alongside Tonya Williams and Shay Kelly. I am also a North Carolina Licensed nail technician and esthetician. I love my career in the beauty industry because it brings me a sense of joy and accomplishment when I help my clients feel better about themselves and look good at the same time.
It’s exciting going into work everyday and knowing I’ll create something unique and different from the day before.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My passion for art played a major part in the career field I chose. Being artistic helps tremendously, especially when asked to create extravagant nail art. It was also imperative that I obtain knowledge and a license by going to both nail and esthetic school. You can not legally work in the beauty industry in the state of NC without a beauty license. While in school and after being licensed, practicing was so important. I would tell anyone looking to pursue a career in nails or esthetics that practice really does make perfect. And that you will never be perfect, but there is always room for improvement and growth.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Myself, as well as all of us at The Hive Beauty Bar are currently looking for both a dedicated and passionate nail technician and a cosmetologist or natural hair care specialist to join our team. We’d love to have someone who enjoys what they do at our empty stations. Any interested individuals would need to have a North Carolina beauty license, be passionate about the beauty industry, get along well with others and work well with others. We are also always looking for investors or persons willing to help us grow as a business.
