Meet James Womack Jr

We were lucky to catch up with James Womack Jr recently and have shared our conversation below.

James, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I grew up in the church and gave my life to Jesus Christ at a young age but I didn’t realize my purpose until my adult age. I had suffered depression and contemplated suicide. I almost gave up on life until I heard God’s voice speaking to me saying that I have purpose. I found my purpose in the midst of dark times in my life when I feel like giving up.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Hip-hop Artist, Urban Missionary, and Speaker

James L. Womack Jr., born in Albany, New York but raised in Atlanta. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of 8 but dealt with times of rejection and persecution throughout my elementary and middle school years. He has also have dealt with sexual temptation and self-esteem issues because of his purity and my perseverance as the virgin that he is now. He has been rapping ever since the age or 17. He is inspired by artists like Lecrae, Nas, and some Kanye West because of their authenticity and putting message into Hip-hop music. His rapper name is Midnite(pronounced as Midnight) because He was inspired by a scripture in Acts 16:25-34 when Paul and Silas went to prison at midnight and still praised God in all the dark times they have been through for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has heard preachers say that, “In the midnight hour, God turns things around.” James Womack Jr. has graduated at Point University with a Bachelors degree in Theology in 2013. “No matter what “Midnite times” I have to go through, I know that I know that Jesus is always here with me!!!”
“My mission and purpose is to bring forth Kingdom principles in every walk of life”–

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Perserverance, Consistency, and being content

My advice for people is to make sure you put Jesus first in your life. Matthew 6:33 says to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Success is not just making money and getting fame but its also making an impact on the lives that you serve.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Before my mom passed away in 2009, my mom always prayed for me and has always encouraged me to be the man of God that I am now
