Meet Ada Trinh

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ada Trinh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ada below.

Ada, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Navigating the space as the only person in the room has presented both challenges and opportunities for growth. I’ve had to cultivate the skill of tuning out external opinions and voices, learning to stand firmly in my own truth and power. Despite moments of deep fear and doubt, I’ve discovered the strength to embrace my inner truth and listen to my own needs.

Embracing my uniqueness has allowed me a to see the world from a different perspective. As a Vietnamese shaman living in America with little guidance from my ancestral culture, I’ve tapped into my creativity and learned to trust the unfolding of life’s journey. For me, success isn’t solely about external achievements; it’s about cultivating self-trust amidst life’s uncertainties. Success means understanding and honoring one’s worth while approaching oneself with gentleness and patience.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
For me, embodying the role of Shaman Ada is about honoring my lineage and the work we undertake in the world. Initially, I hesitated to embrace the title of shaman, but through profound dialogues with my ancestors, I’ve come to understand that it transcends mere words or labels. It’s about fully embodying the essence of what it means to be a shaman.

Guided by the wisdom imparted by my grandfather, I recognize that being a shaman carries immense responsibilities, both towards others and oneself. We serve as the conduit linking the spirit realm to the physical world. In our modern society, we’ve drifted from the rhythms of nature, becoming increasingly disconnected from one another and Mother Earth, lost in the distractions of technology.

My life’s purpose revolves around facilitating balance in people’s lives and fostering a deeper connection with the Earth. Alongside my grandfather, we organize events throughout LA, offering our gifts to those who seek them. These gatherings include womb healing circles, sound baths and full moon ceremonies, where we’re privileged to work alongside our soul family, sharing our collective wisdom and healing energy.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, I’ve found certain qualities to be essential to my growth. These principles have become the foundation of my path:

Honesty & Respect:
I prioritize honesty and respect, both towards myself and others. When something doesn’t align with my truth or feels off in my body, I acknowledge it honestly. This practice allows me to navigate life with greater ease and clarity.

Boundaries & Self-Love:
I’ve learned to establish boundaries with myself and others. When I need rest, I say no. I set boundaries around work hours and responsibilities, recognizing my limitations and honoring my need for self-care. This not only protects my energy but also serves as an act of self-love.

Commitment & Trust:
Commitment and trust are fundamental to my journey. Despite challenges and uncertainty, I remain committed to my path and trust in the unfolding of life. Even in difficult times, I trust that everything is happening for my highest good. Whether walking to work or facing financial concerns, I maintain my commitment and trust in the process.

Patience:
Patience, often misunderstood as merely waiting, is a profound virtue. True patience is rooted in deep inner peace and trust in the natural rhythms of life. It allows me to embrace life’s journey with full acceptance and enjoyment, knowing that everything unfolds in its own divine timing. Patience enables me to live fully in the present moment, embracing life’s adventures with gratitude and joy.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
If you find yourself deeply resonating with these words, we’d be happy to connect with you. Life is a vast network of interconnected experiences, and we never know who or what we’ll encounter along the way. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many incredible individuals who have not only become clients but also valued colleagues. These chance encounters have occurred everywhere, from the grocery store to hiking trails, reminding me that the universe communicates with us through various channels.

A wise friend once shared with me that life speaks to us through people, places, and things. It’s a beautiful reminder that when we open ourselves to the guidance of the universe, opportunities for connection and collaboration abound.

Grandpa and I are excited and look forward to the possibility of collaborating with you. If you feel called to reach out, we’re here and ready to listen.
