Meet Sarah Teeple

We recently connected with Sarah Teeple and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed it the hard way – through lots of nitty-gritty life experience! Singing in a touring rock band, plenty of partying, a heartbreaking divorce, loss, career changes, a fertility journey….

My solid relationship with myself and my intuition was developed over a decade of ups and downs – and witnessing firsthand that all the answers and wisdom were already inside of me, and that I had to slow down to access it. I had to stop numbing with loud music, alcohol, and people-pleasing.

I learned to trust my inner voice only by NOT trusting it for so long, that I had created a life that felt incongruent with who I was at a deeper level. I left a marriage to an amazing human who was not a good fit for me as a partner, left my rock band, started a new career and a new life path at the age of 34. Going back to school for nutrition, yoga, and Ayurveda. Traveling for school to Asheville, NC, and India, and opening my heart to a new love, family, and career success.

The biggest, best changes come from within.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think the following qualities have really helped me along my holistic personal journey, as well as my journey to becoming a successful business owner.

1. Trust – mostly in yourself. Your gut, your intuition, your smarts, your savvy, your inner voice.

2. Focus – Set your goals, then focus on them. Stop comparing to what others are doing and stay in your lane. I was very distracted, coming from a family of people with doctorates, feeling insecure by comparison, and wasting time focusing on how i could be more like them. Once I shifted my energy and focus to what makes me, my practice, and my business special and valuable, my success (and fun) started to skyrocket.

3. Forward Movement – Keep moving forward, even if you “don’t know exactly where it’s going or how it’s going to turn out”. Life is full of uncertainty. But you will thrive if you keep moving down YOUR PATH. You’ll get “there” (wherever “there” is, lol) if you just keep going. Don’t waste time in self-doubt.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My sister, Amy, has been my biggest, most steady, loving support person along my journey. Amy is a gifted, empathic, amazing psychologist in Manitoba, CA. We only see eachother 2 times a year. But we send multiple weekly Marco Polo messages to keep in touch.

There, we process everything: the challenges and the triumphs. We celebrate each other’s wins, give advice and share self-care tools. I talk nutrition, herbs, and mediation with her. She gives me mindfulness tools, helps me process issues from an IFS (Internal family Systems) lens. And we reminisce, laugh at our inside sissy-jokes, and show-off our thrift store clothing finds!

Amy has been the biggest gift in my life, for my entire life.
