Meet Rebecca Pearl

We were lucky to catch up with Rebecca Pearl recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ms. Pearl, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Growing up a first-generation Haitian-American, I always felt a bit different in any room I walked into; somewhat set apart. As a child, my personality allowed me to be fluid in my friend groups and gave me the ability to excel in many different spaces. Feeling different gave me the desire to find a way to relate to people, and growing up in Central Florida, a massive melting pot of people from all over the world, I loved to learn about people and where they come from, their customs, cultures, desires, talents, and dreams. Developing in this way allowed me to flourish in any environment I found myself in. It allowed me to become what some would consider a socialite.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am Rebecca Pearl, a singer, songwriter, poet, and visionary.

In January 2023 I released my first single “Don’t Mind” There is a particular kind of love that I desire, and “Don’t Mind” is an introduction to that.  The cover art for the single is a piece I painted. I did a show in Nashville, and in the interim we painted, and the prompt was to paint a couple. I prayed and said, “Ok God, what should I paint?” and I heard “You pray for this love, paint what that looks like.” so I did, and I called it Divine Alignment. “Write the vision and make it plain.” So I took my faith and put it on a canvas. I wrote this song to be the very embodiment of my divine desires, where my dreams become a tangible reality. It’s about a love that is flawless, and ethereal, that came from Heaven itself, just for me. It embraces devotion and commitment, and the pleasures they bring. It is an invitation to close your eyes and experience Heaven on Earth.

I decided to nurture this mindset and create my album “Divine Alignment” centered around the same theme. Inspired by the desire for my own fairytale love, I am creating an atmosphere that cultivates the heart posture of expectation and desire. An environment to dream and believe. My desire is for young women to understand that they don’t have to be Instagram models to get attention. I want to remind them that they are inherently worthy of love and admiration, and are to be cherished and desired as they are.

Along with the album, my team and I are planning a tour, called the “Divine Alignment Tour” which we are all very excited about. If you want to see me in your city, you can reach out to me on social media @IAmRebeccaPearl or write me an email at [email protected]. Tickets will be on presale soon on my website IAmRebeccaPearl.com.

In May 2023 I released a poem/spoken word piece entitled “I Am Woman” which speaks to the divine identity of every woman, and the necessity to embrace and embody that knowledge in everyday life. I had a difficult childhood and I struggled with understanding my worth and value. I was incredibly insecure and had little belief that I was valuable or that I mattered. One evening I was sitting in my mother’s living room, and the words just came to me. In about 10 minutes the poem was written. I call it God’s love letter to me; it is a testament for every woman, and illustrates the foundation pillars of who we are.

My work paints a good picture of who I am and what I stand for. I desire to create positive change through what I create. I’m grateful to all of you for supporting that.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My faith is my foundation. My relationship with God has kept me grounded and intact through every period of my life, especially those being the most difficult. I’ve heard a lot of Christians talk about God being their “firm foundation, the solid rock on which I stand” and I can honestly say that is true for me. There have been many times when I wanted to quit and give up on my dreams and myself, but having God on my side, and experiencing the joy and love, and victory that He’s brought me over and over has been the greatest blessing I have ever experienced.

Second, would be my ability to learn and pivot and the heart to persevere when situations would change, and when things would become difficult. I had a mentor who recommended the book “Who Moved My Cheese” by Spencer Johnson, and it revolutionized my perspective on change and how to pivot when things shift. It was truly a gift to me and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a career in entertainment.

Finally, I would say my social skills have had a tremendous impact on my ability to move about the world and operate with grace and integrity in realms of various interests and personalities. It’s a skill that takes time to learn, but I’ve experienced firsthand the benefits of being able to work with others, getting to know them on a personal level, and being bold enough to step outside of my comfort zone and truly experience people as they are.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely I am. I love people and I love learning from and working with others. Whether it be with producers or musicians, visual artists, organizations, etc, I love to collaborate and partner.

Ideally, I work with kind honest, people of integrity, who love to grow, learn, and explore. I can be contacted through my social media @ IAmRebeccaPearl or via email at [email protected]
