Meet Tiffany Wooden

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Wooden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tiffany, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I would like to think that I get my resilience from all my experiences in life, whether its good or bad.

When you go through certain things life, and you still come out alive, you know that you can get through anything.

I had to learn that from a very young age, because my life has always come with battles and circumstances that should have ended me, but it didn’t and at the end of it all, I got to say that I am still here, I’m still breathing, and if I’m still breathing then I get to live to tell another day, to keep dreaming.

I would like to think that I also get my resilience from my family.
We have been through so much, more than most should have to face in 20 lifetimes, and the fact they never gave up, no matter how hard it was, no matter how many times life wanted them to give up, they didn’t.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What I do is I inspire, I tell my story through fashion. I am a fashion designer, my brand being called Verita Couture which means truth in Italian.
The thing I feel is most special about my brand is allowing anyone and everyone from all walks of life expressing and showing who they really are, who they’re meant to be.
What I want people to know about my brand is this, Verita Couture is more than just fashion, its more than just a brand.
Its about bringing everyone together, to stand in support of each other, telling our stories, no matter what that story may be.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
When I look back and think on the three most important things that were most impactful on my journey are these: 1: life won’t always be easy or fair, but if I keep pushing, if I keep fighting, then nothing can get in my way.
2: Dreaming is everything, and keeping those dreams alive no matter what, but its not worth it if you’re all alone, having those most important to you through it all, is what matters most, otherwise those dreams aren’t worth it.
3: always remembering and knowing where you come from, remembering how you got where you are in life, that’s what will keep you grounded and humble, and to show kindness always.

My advice to anybody still on their journey or still trying to find their way is this, don’t give up on your dreams no matter, because there’s always going to be those people, those voices who will try and tell you that you’re nothing, you’re not worth it, or that you’ll never be anybody, so keep fighting, prove them wrong, and come out stronger on the other side.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I would say that the most important and most impactful thing that my parents have done for me is that they never gave up on me and never will. I know they’ll love me unconditionally, and will always be some of my biggest fans when it comes to my dreams, I wouldn’t be where I am without them.
They taught me to never give up on my dreams, and there have been plenty of times where I felt I wanted to, but they didn’t let me, they fought for my dreams even when I didn’t or couldn’t.
