We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hanna McCord a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hanna, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose comes from the Lord, guiding me to serve others with compassion and excellence in all I do. I truly believe that working in the beauty industry is my calling. Since I was a young girl, I have had these dreams. I have worked extremely hard to achieve all of my heart’s desires. However, it’s because of my faith that I can keep going. It’s because of my up bring in my church that I can keep pushing and believing even when it feels like I will not succeed. I strive to reflect God’s love and grace in every interaction, whether it’s through providing beauty services or supporting those around me. It is my faith that drives me to create a welcoming and uplifting environment where everyone feels valued and cherished. My faith is the cornerstone of my success, as it provides me with strength, resilience, and a sense of purpose in everything I undertake. It guides me to approach my work with integrity, kindness, and dedication, ensuring that I always strive for excellence. Through prayer and trust in the Lord’s plan, I find the courage to face challenges and the wisdom to make decisions that align with my values. Ultimately, my faith inspires me to serve others wholeheartedly, leading to meaningful and fulfilling achievements.

Hi there! My name is Hanna. I am the owner and founder of Le Rêve Makeup & Hair LLC. and Le Rêve Château Salon & Spa. I began pursuing my dreams as a licensed managing cosmetologist and professional makeup artist in 2010. I received my training from The Ohio State School of Cosmetology, Makeup First School of Makeup Artistry, and various nationwide education and training courses.
My journey has allowed me to work with The Art Institute of Chicago, with top-rated bridal designers, fashion designers, and photographers for commercial, editorial, lifestyle, and video work. In addition, I have worked with celebrity clients such as Glenn Close, politicians, CEOs of major companies, countless brides, special events, and more. I am fueled by making each client feel beautiful and passionately leading the Le Rêve team.
I founded Le Rêve Makeup & Hair LLC. in 2014. We have served thousands of brides and clients. We are a team of 25 passionate makeup artists and hairstylists. As we continued to grow, I wanted to provide more for our clients. I opened Le Rêve Château Salon & Spa in 2024. We are a full-service salon and spa. I have an extremely talented team of 10 ladies who are hairstylists, estheticians, and massage therapists.
Le Rêve is French for “The Dream.” Which is exactly what I am living each day. The name came about because of my love for the French culture. I grew up with a French exchange student in my home. This changed my life forever. I am a very passionate person. I believe everyone should love what they do. You should never truly “work” a day in your life. As a young girl, I wanted to be a makeup artist. It was my childhood dream. Through years of obstacles and moments that felt like I would never “make it.” I am now living my “dream.”
Le Rêve is more to me than my company. I inspire my team to chase their dreams and live the life that they always dreamed of. We incorporate “dream” in all aspects of our company. We challenge our clients to set dreams and continue to inspire the world to dream through the beauty industry. Our slogan is, Dreaming Beautifully and we hope to encourage you to live a life full of beautiful dreams.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey are resilience, compassion, and dedication. Resilience has helped me overcome challenges and setbacks, allowing me to keep moving forward despite obstacles. Compassion has enabled me to connect deeply with others, understanding their needs and serving them with empathy. Dedication has driven me to pursue excellence in all aspects of my work, ensuring that I continually strive to improve and grow. These qualities have not only shaped my journey but also defined the way I approach life and work, leading to meaningful experiences and successes.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I am overwhelmed, I take a step back to recenter myself and spend time in prayer. I find solace in prayer, meditation, or reflection to regain clarity and perspective. Seeking support from loved ones or mentors also helps me navigate challenging times. Additionally, I prioritize self-care activities, such as taking a break, practicing deep breathing, or engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation. My faith plays a significant role in providing comfort and guidance during overwhelming moments.
