Meet Araceli Ruiz

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Araceli Ruiz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Araceli, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
As a small business owner especially in a creative field like cosmetics, keeping your creativity alive is essential for growth and innovation. I like to engage with my customers I listen to their feedback and understand their needs and preferences. Feedback can provide valuable insights into what they love and what they like to see from my brand.
Sometimes I take breaks and rest.
Sometimes stepping away from work for a bit can recharge your creativity. Building a small business takes time and effort. I always try to stay positive, persistent and believe in myself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a small business owner I am passionate about creating beauty products that not only enhance one’s physical appearance but also empower individuals to express themselves creatively. My brand LIVANNA is dedicated to offering high quality cruelty-free cosmetics at affordable prices.

One of the most exciting aspects of running LIVANNA is the opportunity to connect with the community. As I mentioned before in another interview the purpose of my business is to help people who are in need. Therefore, part of the sales I make from my business is to help people. That’s why I’m trying to work hard and stay focused on my small business because my goal is to be able to help more people in need.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey as a small business owner qualities, skills that were most impactful are Creativity and innovation. Creativity is crucial for developing unique products eye-catching packaging. Innovation helps your brand stand out in a crowded market and keeps customers engaged. And one of the most important qualities is Believe in Your Vision: Entrepreneurship can be challenging, but maintaining confidence in your vision and passion for your business will drive you forward during tough times. Trust your instincts and stay true to your brand’s values.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
As a small business owner, feeling overwhelmed is a common experience given the many responsibilities and challenges that come with running a business. My advice is when you feel overwhelmed take a break and rest. Pushing yourself too hard can lead to burnout. Take short breaks throughout the day to recharge. Go for a walk, practice mindfulness, or engage in activities that relax you. In my case wasn’t a smooth road for me to start the business. I have encountered plenty of obstacles throughout my journey. I had to stop several times because of hardship. But I never gave up. So, I am working harder to achieve my dreams when I feel sad or overwhelmed I take a break and remember that with my business I help people who’s in needed and if I stop my business I will not be able to help my people and as one of my biggest goals is to make business grow so I can help more people. When I remember LIVANNA’s purpose, that’s when I continue and the more I want to work on my business to achieve my goal.
